Happy trails to you!

Good morning and happy humpday! It’s already looking like another beautiful day here in Chicago. I woke up on time this morning and grabbed the second half of the Clif Chocolate Brownie ZBar from the other day for my pre-workout snack. Then it was off to the gym for a cardio/ab workout – 45 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes of ab work. I left the gym in shorts and a t-shirt for the first time this year! No bundling up today!

Breakfast was my usual banana-maple oatmeal staple (I’m going to have a recipe page up and running soon so it’s easier to find the ingredients I use). Today, however, I added trail mix as my topping, which I had never done before. I chose the Bear Naked High Sierra Blend – mainly because it was on sale at the grocery store last week 🙂 – and it was fabulous! Almonds, raisins, cashews, pumpkin seeds and chocolate chips – yum!

I ate the oatmeal with a spoonful of PB and some water for a tasty, super-fueled breakfast!

Have I become too predictable yet? I try to switch up the other parts of the picture to keep it interesting for you 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means another busy day at the station. I will try to put up lunch but if it gets hectic I may have to do a combined post again. I’m looking forward to tonight though – mom and bro time!

  2. Your days sounds lovely so far! Glad to hear that trail mix is good, i need something to take with me backpacking and was wondering about one to try out.
