Vita-Mix Super 5200 Giveaway!

I wasn’t kidding – the “secret” is BIG!

Every time a lovely reader visits Eating Bender, he or she has the option of clicking on the Bender’s Blenders page. It’s here that you will find a list of all of the recipes I have concocted with the help of my Vita-Mix blender.

This appliance takes the meaning of the word “blender” to a new level. It is not just for smoothies anymore – although the Vita-Mix can crush any fruit in a matter of seconds. No, the cool part about this blender is that it comes with a wet and dry blade, which basically magnifies the number of uses you can get out of it.

Try the wet blade to make soups, salad dressings, sauces, syrups, fondue, batter, nut and fruit butters, ICE CREAM – the list goes on. Or, check out the dry blade, which can be used to blend grains for bread-making, or to mix the dry ingredients in your favorite baked goods, such as Zesty Corn Muffins. To see all of the possibilities, check out the Vita-Mix Recipe page.

Of course, you can also use the Vita-Mix to create your own recipes. Below is the list of all the recipes I have created so far – I’ve got some serious work to do with this machine in the future!

The Vita-Mix Super 5200 Giveaway!

**This giveaway applies to anyone living anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Yes, that’s right Canadians, it includes you, too!!**

Earlier this week, I was contacted by Allison, a PR representative for Vita-Mix. She saw that I am a big fan of the blender and wanted to know whether or not I’d be interested in giving away a Vita-Mix Super 5200 to a blog reader.

Well, of COURSE I am! But the question is…do YOU want a chance to win?

Here are the rules:

  1. Leave a comment describing your favorite blender recipe (or food processor/mixer in case you don’t have a blender) and why you would want to own a Vita-Mix.
  2. Earn an extra chance to win by linking back to this post on your own blog (if you have one).
  3. You can earn another extra chance to win by telling a friend about the contest and having them comment, too! Just make sure that they list you as the referrer. You can do this whether or not you have a blog – I wanted to make sure that everyone gets an extra chance to win!

This post will remain open for commenting until next Monday, December 15 at 11:59 pm. At that point, I will use a random number generator to select the winner. All of the “extra chances” at winning will be included.

I hope that you are as pumped about this giveaway as I am! Check out the Vita-Mix site for more information about their products. It will be worth your while – promise!

Good luck, and happy blending!!

  1. Wow this is awesome! My favorite thing to make in a blender, esp. at this time of year, is soup! Specifically any type of sweet potato soup šŸ™‚

  2. Hey there, love all the food blog community but I hardly ever comment because I am shy lol. The sad truth is I never owned a blender. But if I had one I would definitely use it to make those cottage cheese protein pancakes.

  3. WOW! I want to win! I have been wanting to make some dips (hummus, etc) but have not had any type of blending device! Pick me! I will put a link up to this contest on my blog šŸ˜‰

  4. thats awesome! im a college student and a blender would be amazing to have to make smoothies, shakes and fun drinks! my favorite thing in a blender is a strawberry banana smoothies..so delicious šŸ™‚

  5. OH MY GOSH, this is heaven! I am absolutely in LOVE with the vitamix! I love making green smoothies, all fruit smoothies, protein smoothies, home-made hummus, and home-made nut butters. What a fabulous contest! šŸ™‚

  6. Haha I guess I’ll sit this one out; it just wouldn’t be fair for me to have THREE Vitamixes ;o)

But I still can’t believe we were given them for free! It’s lik we won the lottery! (P.S. Did you get yours already, or is the one in the picture one you already owned?)

  7. I have always wanted a vita-mix! I love making smoothies, but I also love this green dressing recipe I got from one of Mariel Hemingway’s books. It’s got spinach, basil, mustard, olives, olive oil, and I can’t remember what else all blended together. I’m thinking of it because she mentions vita-mix blenders in her book. šŸ™‚

  8. I would love to have my very own VitaMix!
I love to use blenders to make smoothies (of course), but also some salad dressings and Margs, one of my favorite drinks!
I will put a link in my blog too! Thanks!!
    Love your blog!!
    šŸ™‚

  9. Oh my god I would LOOOOOOOVE a vitamix… I had been using my family’s old blender (almost older than me) that I had brought to my apartment in New York until it finally gave out. It wasn’t blending much in the end anyways, I guess. Oh man, this would be too perfect if I won this blender…
My favorite thing to do is stick an eggplant in the oven until charred, scoop out the guts and blend with olive oil, s&p, lemon juice/zest, and sometimes some yogurt for an amazing spread.
I also love making smoothies, *ahem* margaritas *ahem*, hummus. AAAAAAAAAAH.

p.s. i linked to your blog on MY blog, but i just started mine, so nobody reads it yet… hope that still counts!

    heart,
    keiko

  10. WOW. really ? A VITA-MIX blender?

How awesome would that be? I don’t even have a regular blender (my mom’s just broke… :-(), but my fave thing to make was smoothies! But my blender would never really BLEND the ingredients totally… so it would come out a real chunky smoothie.

If I won the Vita Mix Blender I’d try out soooo many recipes that I’ve been dying to try, but haven’t because of lack of a blender.

  11. Wow!! That truly is amazing!

I have been admiring so many people’s Vita-MIx concoctions! All I can do is sigh to myself and wish someday I could have one! Well, Maybe this is my chance!! Is this “someday”?!? I hope so. I can only imagine that I would generate many favorites from a Vita-Mix, but since I am, at the moment, without the amazing machine in my kitchen, I use a blender. My favorite is a classic: peanut butter and banana smoothie, but it has to have LOTS of peanut butter!

Thank you Miss Bender and Allison and Vita-Mix for creating such a amazing contest! This one’s for the books!

  12. Awesome giveaway! When I had a working blender, I loved to make banana smoothies. All you need is a ripe banana, and handful of ice (unless you use a FROZEN banana), a 6-8 oz carton of vanilla yogurt, and a splash of milk. Yum!

  13. My favorite blended recipe is 1/2 cup Fiber One, a banana, 1/2 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk, a tsp cocoa powder, and 2 ice cubes. Delish and fiber-ific!

  14. roasted eggplant, roasted red bell pepper, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, roasted onion, olive oil, garlic! yum.

  15. Wow this sounds amazing! I do not have a blender right now so this would be great for making quick, healthy dishes. I’d love to try homemade salsas and blended desserts made of fresh fruits.

  16. OMG THIS IS AMAZING! I don’t have a blender!!! Or a vitamix or a magic bullet! I’ve never made a smoothie before and have to use my cuisinart to make pureed soups and it’s a b**** to clean! I WOULD, however, LOOOOVE to make some winter fruit soup! I’ve been DYING to! I’d take baked apples, cinnamon, lite coconut milk, nutmeg, acorn squash, pumpkin, and some vanilla bean (and probs some almond milk to thin it out) and EAT IT WITH GREEK YOGURT and a lil granola on TOP! I’ve been CRAVING it and think it’d be DIVINE hot or cold! I WANT THIS BLENDAAAA BENDAAA šŸ˜‰

  17. How fun, I want to make my own hummus and of course I love to cook so anything would be wonderful to have the vitamiX!

  18. Ahh…yes, the fabulous Vita-Mix!! We already have our own beauty, otherwise, I’d be all over this contest! It’s a wonderful machine … a regular appliance in our household! How fun that you get to give one away! šŸ˜€

  19. Wow, this is big. Um, I don’t have a “real” blender, but I use my immersion blender to make smoothies. I really like the Vitasoy strawberry banana soymilk with bananas and frozen blueberries. This works okay, but does not really blend ice; thus this is something I covet the Vitamix for. I also want it to make ice cream!

  20. AWESOME GIVEAWAY!!! I’m crossing my fingers, toes…everything possible!

My FAVORITE Blender Recipes are any homemade creamy soups…butternut squash especially! Sadly, I don’t enjoy said soups because I don’t own a blender. As a recent college graduate, I’m scraping the pennies together to build my kitchen arsenal! For the last two years, the only blender/food processor/chopper has been a teeny cuisinart that holds a max of 2 cups! šŸ™

Needless to say, my fiancee doesn’t enjoy eating anything 2 cups at a time so this would be GREAT to have!!!!!

  21. I’ve always wanted/needed a vitamix. I love to make smoothies, hummus/dips, and much more in my blender but it just doesn’t crush and make it silky smooth as I know a vita-mix can! It would be a great way to add healthy fats to my diet by sneaking in nuts that can’t be pureed in my regular blender. I would love to try out more raw recipes and winning this would be amazing!!!

  22. What an AMAZING GIVEAWAY this time of year!! My favorite: frozen bananas, chocolate protein powder, and lots of dark chocolate peanut butter!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  23. I may be boring but my favorite blender recipes are smoothies!! I especially love; almond milk, vanilla jay robb protein powder, pb, frozen strawberries, ice and flax and blended together! that’s my favoriteee

  24. Wow! I like making smoothies and slushie drinks in blenders, but my cheap blender leaves little chunks in my drinks šŸ™ I’ve heard so many good things about the Vita-Mix!

  25. oh. my gosh. i have dreamed of having a vita-mix since i first saw a vita-mix demonstration at the state fair in 2001!!! i have searched for a good/affordable used one… no luck. i would LOVE to win this one!!! my favorite think to make in my blender: southwestern corn soup. yum.

  26. I make knock off Jamba Juice smoothies all the time. This would be a great christmas gift to me! šŸ™‚

  27. Tofu Tomato Soup – 1 package tofu, 1 can tomatoes with basil, oregano & garlic, 1 tsp. agave. Blend! I need a Vitamix to give to my parents – both have serious health issues and are trying to eat healthier and my mom really wants a Vitamix.

  28. Ahh I need a vitamix! It’s on my christmas list, but I doubt anyone will get it for me considering the insane price! I was also thinking about starting a vitamix fund.. I saw it a few weeks ago at a nutrition/vitamin store and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was hiding in a corner, all alone..poor thing! The blender I have at home is ancient. It feels like it takes me forever to make a simple smoothie, pesto or what have you…it drives me nuts!
I make smoothies all the time, and my favorite would have to be banana, strawberry and almond butter smoothie with soy milk and nutiva’s chocolate hempshake mix! šŸ™‚
I’m going to add a link to this post on my blog

  29. OH.MY.GOSH! ive always wanted to try one but cant afford one!
my faveorite recipe is peanutbutter, vanilla, bananna, & strawberry smoothe! YUM!

  30. I love making smoothies! And I saw someone mentioned a green sauce from Muriel Hemmingway, I love that stuff! Would love one of these blenders!

Found your giveaway and blog from Itzy’s Kitchen!

  31. heard about this from Sarah at dryerlynt.wordpress.com and i would LOVE to make my famous salsa in the Vita-Mix. throw a whole head of cilantro in there, baby, along with a bunch of fresh tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, and lime juice. mmm….

  32. Oh Jenn that is the COOLEST!! I would love a free blender since I’ll be moving into a new apartment in January, I’m sure it would come in handy! I can see myself making lots of fun things, bender’s blenders are on my list!

  33. Are you kidding me! What an amazing contest! I would love to make pumpkin smoothies with it. I don’t even have a food processor, so this would be a great addition to my kitchen! Thanks for having this giveaway!

  34. I love icy drinks so this would be totally awesome to have! Especially margaritas, smoothies, and frozen hot chocolate. Take milk, ice and hot chocolate powder and blend it up. Yum.

  35. OMG I would LOOOVE a Vita-Mix!! Recently I’ve been making baked goods that call for tofu as the binder…so I’ve had to whip out my mom’s food processor (which is about to die on me haha…and the blender we have is awful to clean!) to blend it with the other ingredients. Plus CCV is really getting me hooked on all of her blender recipes…so this would be AWESOME to have!! :0)

  36. Yowza, this looks like the PERFECT time to de-lurk! My favorite “blended” recipe would be frozen bananas + just a teeny-tiny bit of milk = banana soft serve!

  37. I would definitely make use of a Vita-Mix… to make hummus and other bean dips that strain my blender! (btw, Vegan Nurse brought me here!)

  38. I love mixing banana, ice, almond breeze and cocoa powder. My blender broke last year so this would be amazing!

  39. I don’t want to win because I already have a Vit-Mix. I just wanted to say that is it my favorite appliance. I could not live without it!!!!! That is awesome they donated one for a giveaway. Yea Vita-Mix!

  40. That is insane! I have a blender so I’m not entering, but I just wanted to say, that is insane!
    That is insane!
    šŸ™‚

  41. Wow Jenn… You were totally right… this is such an awesome giveaway. I think my fav blender recipe would be anything with a nut butter involved, however I would have to say banana, pb smoothie would be the all time fav.

I have all my fingers and toes crossed in hopes that I win. I have been dreaming of owning a Vita-mix.

  42. HOLY WOW you weren’t kidding!!! I had the *privilege* of using my friends VitaMix once upon a time.. we made soy peppermint shakes, and it was PHENOMENAL. I was so jealous. I mean, I love my Magic Bullet, but my baby has definitely seen better days after the wear and tear I put it through.

I think my most recent blender obsession is soup, and my current flavor trend has been PUMPKIN. But when is it ever not pumpkin? ;]

  43. oh man…. I would love to own a vitamix! At my old cafe job, I learned how to make mocha smoothies with espresso that were so delicious… I could never recreate them at home because my blender won’t crush the ice well enough! I would totally make those all the time!

  44. omg my favorite blender recipe is my dinner smoothie
I have a smoothie for dinner EVERYDAY yes i know it’s december šŸ™‚
I would love to have a VITA-MIX blender because my blender sucks! and i need to use a spoon or a knife when the ice gets stuck in it because it doesn’t blend big pieces that much šŸ™

  45. You probably won’t believe this but my blender is on it’s last legs. We’ve been making a lot of smoothies in it and it’s not really very good for anything else šŸ™ I would love to be able to make my own nut butter!!
Am linking this from my blog šŸ™‚

  46. The demo person at Costco made this the other day and it was incredible:

1/4 cup of any concentrated juice
    grapes
    banana
    strawberries
    blueberries
    watermelon
    carrot
    spinach
    1 Tbsp Honey
    Several large scoops of ice
The vegetable ratio to fruit should be about 1 to 5.

A VitaMix seems like such a fantastic machine because it can make anything, sorbets, smoothies, soup, etc. It’s so easy to clean too!

  47. My favorite food processor recipe (because i dont have a blender) is Spinach-Artichoke Dip with spinach, artichokes, goat cheese, light mayo, and garlic.

It’s both healthy and amazing =)

  48. WOW.. I hope I win this blender!!! My favorite thing to make in a blender is pumpkin soup šŸ™‚ I steam a whole pumpkin and puree it in the blender! I want to win a Vita-Mix blender because my current blender is really old and Vita-MIx is 10000x nicer!!

  49. This is an amazing prize to offer readers. How generous and cool of you. I would like to have this blender to help make protein smoothies and soups. I love butternut squash soup! I don’t have a good blender at home so everything is chunky. This would be great for me to have. Currently I am under weight and malnourished so I am trying to eat more per doctors order, which has been hard. Now with this baby I think I could definitely make some good eats!

  50. peanut butter, banana, ice, vanilla soy milk and chocolate chips blended equals a healthy and delish “shake” šŸ™‚

  51. I love to make homemade soups, hummus, and ice cream like homemade desserts.

I would love the chance to do this all with my own vita mixer I am sure the possibilities are numerous

  52. I would make ACAI! ;]
    1 acai packet
splash of almond breeze/soymilk/rice milk/hemp milk, etc..
    2 frozen bananas
good squeeze of RAW agave nectar
couple of ice cubes, if you’re up to it

    and.. MIX!
except my blender is like bleh ;[
and a new vitamix would be like YAAAAHYAYAYYAYY!!!! šŸ˜€ šŸ˜€ :DDD

  53. I have wanted one of these for a long time. My favorite blender food is smoothies – any and all, but lately pumpkin, almond milk and scoop of protein powder with ginger and cinnamon. YUM! I would use this to make my own nut butter. I’ve made it in my food processor, and it really takes a long time, and I think my machine is going to die every time!

  54. so going to win, becuase I am the PROTEIN SHAKE QUEEN!!! lol…I am linking this post to my site and telling my friends!!!!

  55. !!!!! mmmm. i love smoothies. well. in the summer
time. its much too cold for smoothies right now. :/

  56. To win a Vita Mix would be a dream come true!!

Here is my favorite blender concoction:

    1 cup frozen mango
4 tablespoons vanilla spice hemp protein (Living Harvest)
    1 tsp. agave nectar
    1 cup soymilk
3 tbsp of shredded coconut, plus additional for garnish
    1-2 tbsp. Ginger Zing granola

Blend all ingredients except granola and some of coconut. Top with remaining ingredients and dig in!

  57. favorite blender recipe: frozen pineapple, frozen mango, sprinkle flax, vanilla rice milk and a banana. voila!! a deeeelicious tropical smoothie šŸ˜€

  58. I use my blender several times a day to make such things as smoothies, tofu omelettes, and the occasional sesame kanten. I especially like to blend a serving of oatmeal with cinnamon, vanilla hempmilk, and a caramelized banana. Add a couple of walnuts, lightly toasted, for a truly delicious breakfast. Yum!

Sadly, after years of use, my poor blender is starting to slow down, and it makes such a commotion that no one else will come near the kitchen when I am using it. I’m a poor student and I can’t afford to replace it, but I have always yearned to own a lovely Vita-Mix.

  59. That looks like a very good blender. I love the blender we have, its fairly old but works like a charm! It is a Sunbeam blender. I make tons of stuff with it. My favourite thing to make with it is pumpkin muffins. I love using it for muffins because I don’t like “chunks” in muffins unless they are berries or chocoalte chips.

  60. Awww … I was hoping that this competition would be open for a poor aussie student like moi! šŸ™ BUT never mind, I’ll work hard in the summer hols to earn the $$ to purchase one myself!! By the way, just wanted to say that it is VERY VERY generous and NICE of you to give out the blenders to your readers!! Have a great day!

  61. Yay this is is awesome! My favorite blender recipe is: frozen mango, greek yogurt, honey, and ice. Except, my blender is terrible and the ice never blends in. I’d love to be able to make a creamier smoothie, and maybe take a stab at hummus too!

  62. I think the blender is the most essential tool in the kitchen, ESPRECIALLY if it is a Vitamix. I read about them on blogs all over and didn’t fully understand the hype until I tried it myself at work (I work at a juice bar). My favorite smoothie recipes are making nut milk and green smoothies. I have been able to trump the time of so many sicknesses by making own, “Immunity smoothie” using berries, banana, goji berries, coconut oil, greens powder, bee pollen, and agave nectar. Making nut milk is also the most inspiring thing for me because I can make versions I’d NEVER see at the store: pepita seed milk, brazil nut milk and cashew milk. Unfortunately, I’m a student and the day when I get my own vitamix is much anticipated, but will not be happening anytime soon…

    Thank you!
    Julia Gartland
    JRGARTLAND@Gmail.com

  63. Wow, that IS big.

My favorite blender recipe- delicious, fresh pesto made with whole basil (picked fresh from the garden), freshly grated parm, olive oil, coarse black pepper, and a few other lovely ingredients.

I would love to have a vitamix to be able to make some healthy dips, soups, and smoothies for my family, and hopefully inspire them to be healthier.

  64. fav recipe that makes me happy when I’m sick is frozen yogurt and orange juice…I would love this blender because I have a history of getting blenders that quickly stop working well for me!!

  65. I would loveee this so I can try out your mango does the tango smoothie which I have been meaning to experiment with!

  66. 1) I have a tiny food processor that doesn’t work well, so if I had the blender, I would make my favorite form of hummus – adding black beans to the mix. The combination of chickpeas and black beans is unstoppable.

    2) I would like to win the blender because my favorite 1950s blender was recently turned into a pot for a plant. The blades were dulling, and my boyfriend decided to fill the entire thing with soil. Now I don’t have a blender at all šŸ™

  67. Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothies are my FAVORITE! šŸ™‚
I would love this blender because I have the worst blender in the world. It doesn’t do a thing to the ice cubes, and kinda just slushes them around. This would be amazing for me to have!! Great Giveaway!

  68. I love making smoothies, but my favorite (albeit rare) use for a blender is soup. I have a great sweet potato and peanut butter soup recipe that I haven’t been able to make in a really long time because I have to make the sweet potatoes so pureed to make my blender work that the soup is not good anymore (it’s supposed to be a little chunky.) Hook me up! šŸ™‚

  69. I would love to own a Vita-Mix. My mini foodprocessor and Dollar Store blender are both on their last legs.

I love making smoothies with my blender. But a Vita-Mix would also work well to crush cookies for Oreo Truffles.

  70. Sounds great! I love mixing frozen berries with yogurt…
Danielle J let me know about this give-away šŸ™‚

  71. What an awesome giveaway! My FAVORITE thing in a blender is a strawberry smoothie (strawberries + yogurt + milk + ice + vanilla extract). Not original….but I love an excuse for a treat! šŸ™‚

  72. I know there are lots of healthy things to make in a blender, but honestly… chocolate shakes win hands down for me. Just chocolate ice cream and milk…yum. I’d love to make some of your fiesta bean dip too though!

  73. I’ve broken two blenders in three years so I would LOVE to have a better quality one. First one broke while making creamy cauliflower soup…the plastic pieces couldn’t handle the warm soup and ended up blending right into it…yuck. Second one is falling apart from overuse in the smoothie department.

Favorite smoothie (easiest recipe ever received from hubby’s dietician):

    1/2 ripe banana
    1/2 cup fresh strawberries
    1/4 cup fresh blueberries
    1 tbsp ground flax
    1 cup vanilla soy milk

  74. Oooo blenders….Mine is a hand-me-down from a friend. šŸ™‚

    My smoothie mix:
    1/4 cup frozen strawberries
    1/4 cup frozen mixed berries
    1/4 cup OJ
    2/3 cup Apple Juice
    1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

    MMMM GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

  75. favorite recipe is my hubby’s smoothies!! banana berry with lots of whipped cream is my personal fave šŸ˜‰

  76. I’ve never actually owned my own blender…(I know, so sad.) But when I lived at home, I LOVED to make smoothies- especially with strawberries, vanilla yogurt, and honey. So good.

  77. I’m a smoothie lover! Favourite recipe would probably be banana, ff plain yogurt, ff milk, berries, and sf vanilla syrup.

I’ve never had one with a “dry” feature though, I would love that!

  78. Oooh. I would love the vitamix blender. My favorite blender recipes are obviously smoothies (anything with peanut butter, banana, and a little silken tofu for protein are a big hit at my house), but also for making homemade salad dressings and pureed soups.

  79. […] People, this is the real deal.Ā  This blender will put all others to shame.Ā  Trust me here … we own one.Ā  It not only will blend your smoothies into that creamy consistency you’ve always longed for, but it will also whip up soup, ice cream, fondue, grind grains and the list goes on.Ā  More information and contestĀ rulesĀ can be found here.Ā  […]

  80. WOW. I want it. I want it now. With it I will make my infamous crack breakfast smoothie that includes: banana, strawberries, yogurt, tofu, OJ, flax seed and Vega protein powder.

  81. This is an awesome giveaway!!! I always say I want to make more smoothies, but my blender is so big and such a pain to take out and clean, so i never do. I’d love to whip up a lovely peanut butter banana protein smoothie to charge me in the morning for my day ahead:)

    http://cateberry.wordpress.com

  82. OMG, OMG I saw one of things demo’d at costco and instantly fell in love!! I love that you can make soup with this! Amazing stuff!

Right now all I have is a bullet blender – I make a LOT of protein smoothies. If I had the Vita Mix I could expand my horizons! I have the cook book for sneaking veggies into kids diets and I don’t make them right now because they all call for a food processor. I tried to do it in batches in my bullet, but it wasn’t much fun and it was time consuming and messy!

  83. Top 2 Fav Blender recipes (ok food processor, I don’t own a blender)

1 – Clam Dip: 1 can clams (reserve the juices), 1 package cream cheese, 1/2 small onion, dash worchestershire sauce, juice from 1/2 lemon, salt to taste – add the juices from the can until desire consistency.

2 – Pumpkin pancakes – 1/2 c. oats, 1/2 c. plain yogurt, 1/4 c. egg whites, 1/2 c. canned pumpkin, 1/2 banana, 2 tsp rice milk, 1/8 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp candied ginger. Puree and then slice up other half of banana and add to pancakes after dropping them on a pan.

**I don’t own a blender so I can’t put much liquid in my food processor, which means no smoothies for me!! šŸ™

  84. I love making the mixture for Black Bean Brownies in my blender. I suppose I view the Vita-Mix as the “Aston Martin” of blenders, you know, say it in a hushed and reverent tone. šŸ™‚
I’ll be linking this from my blog and who knows maybe someone will reference me. I found this on http://spunkysuzi.blogspot.com/

    Happy winning!

  85. Hello! Delurking for this amazing chance to win! I worked at Jamba for two years, and my favorite things to blend are anything involving tequila or rum! šŸ™‚ I would loooove to have a new blender, since the one at home is quite pathetic.

  86. I NEED a vitamix blender because my favorite summer treat only works with a vitamix! Combing a banana with frozen strawberries and blend. The result comes out exactly like sorbet. With any other blender, the friction melts the strawberries long before it removes th lumps.

  87. Found out about this from Hangry Pants:)

My favourite blender recipe is cottage cheese/oatmeal/banana pancakes! I would want to own this blender to get more creative and try out recipes that might not work out so well in a regular blender. And to make quality hummus- mine is always super chunky from the blender I’ve got.

  88. I love my mom’s pumpkin soup that she uses her immersion blender to make the soup super creamy! I’d use the vita-mix to recreate that soup in my dorm at college, uber far away from home (like, 6 states away…).
    Great giveaway!

  89. I must have that. Roasted red pepper cream cheese dip. Peanut butter/banana/flax seed smoothies. Hummus! And, um, this lovely little summer drink that includes a tropical V8 splash with a little island rum. Delish!

  90. I JUST broke my blender/mixer over thanksgiving! I was trying to puree some cooked pumpkin for a pumpkin pie and BAM! broken šŸ™

I would LOVE a Vita-Mix because I’m trying to get my WHOLE family to eat less processed and more home made foods and smoothies. My favorite thing to make is a Chocolate “Almond Milk” Milkshake with bananas! DELISH! You just need some chocolate almond milk, a frozen banana, almond butter and some ice cubes!

  91. I love making smoothies out of chocolate soy milk and frozen raspberries–chocolate + raspberries = YUM! Simple and delicious!

  92. My favorite blender recipe? Um, well, probably a peanut butter and banana smoothie!!! If you make it thick enough, and with frozen bananas, it comes out like ice cream (vegan ice cream of course :))

  93. My favorite Blended Recipe is my A.M. smoothie- milk, ice cubes, banana, and some pb. If ony I had an awesome Vita-Mix for those pesky ice cubes…. hehe

  94. My favorite Blended Recipe is my A.M. smoothie- milk, ice cubes, banana, and some pb. If ony I had an awesome Vita-Mix for those pesky ice cubes YUM… hehe-

  95. I need a Vita-Mix for making green smoothies! They’re so good for you and such a good way to get an extra dose of green leafy goodness. I don’t like eating salads, so I really try to eat green smoothies every day, but my cheap-o college blender just doesn’t ‘cut’ it. And of course there’s so many other things you can make with these awesome bad boys…

I was referred here by Heather at HangryPants

  96. what an amazing giveaway and so appropriate for your blog! allison is awesome šŸ˜€
since i’ve got a vita-mix on the way (!) i’m entering for my best friend megan, who is a GENIUS chef, and makes raw vegan ice cream in the blender.
    1/2 cup soaked cashews
1/2 cup young thai coconut meat
    1 cup coconut water
    1/3 cup agave nectar
    1 split vanilla bean
    1 ts salt
    AMAZING

can’t wait to see you in az šŸ˜€ whoo hoo!

  97. I love making smoothies with frozen fruit (anything and everything works for me!), a splash of OJ, greek yogurt and ice.

I’ve been looking into the VitaMix Blender–I’m always entranced by the guys demo-ing at Costco, but it’s awfully expensive . . . hope I win the giveaway!!!

  98. I am a sort of new member to the “eating healthy world”. My doctor thought I migth have been allergic to gluten and I had to go through many tests. After about 3 months of not knowing, I found out I wasn’t. During those months I completely changed my diet. I now don’t eat processed food, and raerly eat meats. I read every ingredient. Since I am still new to all this, I love experimenting with different foods to come up with new recipies. Right now I have a magic bullet, but that is small and doesnt hold that many ingredients. I would love a chance to win a Vita- Mix to help me continue to come up with new ideas.

  99. Oh. My. Gosh.

It has been my dream for years to own a Vita-Mix!!!!

My favourite recipe in my current Food processor is my Homemade Banana Bread Larabar Recipe!!!

    See here for the details!!!
    http://ohsheglows.com/2008/12/08/homemade-banana-bread-larabars/

I think I should win because I have a huge passion for creating new recipes and I would love to be able to share them with the world. šŸ™‚ I am also interested in learning more about raw foods and recipes without cooking!

    Thanks for this awesome opportunity!

    Angela

  100. I make protein milkshakes in my blender with frozen yogurt, silken tofu, almond milk, protein powder, and fun add-ins! But my blender is old and gross…I would REALLY love a new one!

  101. green smoothies. i just use my old ge blender, but i want something bigger, better, badder! i love making them with bananas, oranges and spinach!

  102. smoothies galore šŸ™‚ but also nick’s banana-cottage cheese pancakes!! i don’t have a blender, so this would be fantastic!!! (picture me jumping up and down) you rock jenn! i’m also linking back later today!

  103. cool blender! very matrix-looking, haha!

my favorite blender recipe would have to be a blueberry blast!! half cup milk, half cup yogurt, half a frozen banana cut in chunks , and a whole cup of berries (any type would work)
blends up just like a sorbet!! SOO SOO GOOD! especially with some almonds, adds a great crunch!

  104. What a hardcore looking blender! It sounds like youd be able to make amazingingly yummy things from drinks to pesto! I like to blend black beans & water up & add them to some dry brownie mix for a low fat chocolate dose!

  105. Ooooh I cannot resist entering this contest, my blender is horrible. My favorite blender recipe is hummus:

1 can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans
    1/4 cup liquid from can
    3 tbsp lemon juice
    1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
    2 cloves garlic
    pinch of sea salt
    1-2 tablespoons olive oil

  106. awesome contest! I love a good ‘orange julius’:
    container frozen orange juice
250 ml milk (or ice cream!)
    250 ml water
    sugar and vanila to taste!

  107. I use a magic bullet as my main blender. I usually just use it for protein shakes but also for making spaghetti sauce sometimes or hummus.

  108. I love using my blender for breakfast smoothies, big scoop cottage cheese, 1 cup frozen strawberries, couple tbsp splenda, water to the proper consistency, delish, like a cheesecake. But I do love the idea of a dry blade, not sure what for yet, but the idea excites me!

  109. Soups or margueritas… same difference right? Probablyteh blended soup I make most often is Potato Leek, but I have also been making alot of carrot lately.

Of course, if lime, ice, tequila and triple sec are also a favorite!

  110. I love blending shakes/smoothies.

    I use:
    oatmeal
    frozen strawberries
    soy milk
    flaxseed
    banana

    Mix together, enjoy. Yummmm!!

  111. I use my blender for all sorts of things but it doesn’t blend that well so I would love a Vita-Mix! Some of my favorite blender treats are barbecue sauce, pineapple salsa, smoothies, and onion-garlic pastes for making Indian food.

  112. My favorite blender recipe by far is: Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream. In fact, I’m eating it for lunch right now. The problem is that with a normal blender, chopping up all this frozen fruit is such a pain and takes a long time. I’m in desperate need of a good, powerful and reliable blender and I know this is a quality brand!

  113. I’d love a Vita-Mix for smoothies and for grinding Indian spices/pastes for curries. And I want to make Peanut Butter Boy’s Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream.

  114. I love making smoothies and hummus just as much as the next person.
But the real reason I love having a blender is to make my mom’s super special tomato sauce. During tomato season we make a boat load of this stuff and freeze it, but we never seem to make it last for long šŸ™‚
Put a whole chopped onion, a few pieces of garlic cloves minced, some EVOO, and salt in a pan and sautĆ© until the onions are almost fully sweated. They should be a nice golden, caramely color. Next add 3 1/2 to 4 cups of diced tomatoes. Cook for some minutes (don’t know exactly how much but you should be able to tell) until it’s nice and hot and begins to smell delicious. Add red pepper flakes to taste (i add a bunch because i love them so) and 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp of fine sugar. Make sure everything is incorporated well and let it cool down for a little. Then put the contents into a blender, and pulse it on the lowest setting until it is completely smooth.

This stuff is sooo yummy. I put it on everything. A beautiful Vita-Mix 5200 would make it that much easier šŸ˜€

Oh and also…my friend has one…..two words:
    HOT SOUP!!!

  115. My favorite thing to make in a blender is the typical answer: smoothies. Sadly I’ve destroyed 2 blenders in the past 3 years. One melted in a dishwasher (it was plastic), and the other one cracked on the bottom underneath the blade. Neither of them did a very good job of crushing ice either. I’ve been blender-less for over a year!! I need a Vita-Mix soooo badly! This would be a wonderful Christmas present!!

  116. I found this through nmburleson (to give her credit and an extra chance to win :).
How awesome is it that they are doing this! I would love to make smoothies, pesto (yummy), hummus, malts, etc. And, I’d steal, er borrow, some of your recipies šŸ™‚ Would love a chance to win such a wonder thing!

  117. Oooo. So nice of Vita-mix! I love making smoothies, but my blender recently broke. šŸ™

  118. My favorite blender recipe is banana berry burst. You mix frozen berries, bananas, orange juice, and soymilk into a yummy smoothie. I have wanted a vitamix for so long! They are the superstars of blenders!

  119. my favourite blender recipe is 1 scoop protein powder, 140g frozen cranberries, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup fat free vanilla yogurt, 1 cup unsweetened almond breeze, and 2 TBSP regular PB2 peanut butter powder. Yummo! and I need a blender because I don’t have one! Right now I use an immersion hand blender.

  120. What perfect timing – my immersion blender just died!
I don’t have a real one, so I could use this!
My favorite recipe is butternut squash soup – yum!
Thanks to Kath at katheats for telling me about the contest.

  121. Wow that’s an amazing giveaway. My fav recipe – banana, PB, skim milk, vanilla flavored yogurt – smoothie. Great for on the go breakfast.

  122. What an awesome giveaway!

I use the blender mainly for frozen beverages and smoothies. My favorite recipe is a breakfast smoothie with plain kefir, frozen fruit, vanilla extract and cinnamon – yum!

  123. I usually use my (very crappy) blender for blending soups, although I really should start making smoothies and milk shakes. They’re delicious! šŸ™‚

  124. I grew up down the street from the Vita-Mix world headquarters, and still pass by on the way to my dad’s. So obviously I have wanted one FOREVER! They’re a little out of my price range.
I would love one to help my son ‘bulk up’. He is such a picky eater and his body fat is a bit low according to the school fitness report. His twin sister does not have this problem. My husband has been buying him smoothies at the Robek’s by us. But they are like $7 a piece-so I would use this to make homemade smoothies for him. He loves their 800 lb. gorilla-yogurt, peanut butter, bananas and choc. protein powder. Oh, I also think it’s amazing it can make soup hot!
    Thanks for the awesome contest!

  125. i luv heating up soymilk in the microwave, blending it til its frothy, then mixing with flavored syrup and strong coffee for my own foamy latte!!

  126. I love to make salsa in a blender. A big can of drained whole tomatoes, green onion, cilantro, cumin, salt, lime juice, jalapeno..I think that is it! I would love the vitamix because my blender just doesn’t cut it šŸ˜‰ It won’t blend ice which makes smoothie making pretty much non-existent. And I would love to make hummus, baby food, the list could go on and on. I have found the regular old cheap-o blenders are a waste of money!! And that is what I have.

  127. i love the milkshakes and smoothies you can make using this! This will save me so much since it would be expensive to keep buying drinks to satisfy my cravings!

  128. Fave recipe: frozen cool whip, milk, ff/sf pudding mix, frozen banans and strawberries… blend. It’s like a milk shake! Amazingly delicious. I don’t have a blender right now! It’s tragic. The one I had was horrible and didn’t blend anything… eventually it started smoking (woops) so I had to get rid of it for fear of burning down my kitchen! This would be a dream come true šŸ™‚

  129. Other than smoothies?
I have a chocolate pie recipe I love to make – which is mainly blended up avocado, tofu and melted chocolate. Divine!
I also like to blend frozen bananas for a tasty icecream like treat!

  130. Hummus! I love homemade hummus! And I really need a new blender because I brought mine to my boyfriend’s house so that I could whip up margaritas (another blender fave!) for his surprise birthday party last year, accidentally left it there, and it disappeared! So now I am blender-less šŸ™

  131. Wow, what a great contest! I’ve been wanting one of these babies forever. Every raw food cookbook says they’re an absolute must, and they really must be because the recipes just don’t work in a regular blender. I would be most excited about trying out a raw ice cream in one of these. They’re made mostly with coconut meat, cashews, and agave nectar. These ingredients, with the help of a magic Vitamix, somehow end up tasting like ice cream…only 1000 times better!

  132. OOOHH! how exciting!

fave blender recipe- 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup frozen cherries, 1/2 ripe banana, 1/4 cup plain yogurt, 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, cinnamon… let it sit overnight and blend in the morning for a super quick bfast!!

i’d love a vita mix to make all the bender’s blenders!

  133. no joke, i actually asked for a new blender for christmas because mine does not work so efficiently. this giveaway comes at a perfect time! i have made Kath’s lemon-yogurt hummus before and i think that’s the best thing to ever come out of my blender. i want to make pesto but my dinky little blade doesn’t chop the pinenuts finely enough. other than that i make smoothies sometimes with frozen bananas, soymilk and occasionally yogurt. tip: if you use frozen fruit you don’t need to add any ice to smoothies (ice tends to water down the other flavors anyway). that’s all i got…

  134. I would love a Vita-mix blender! I use a stick blender to make my breakfast smoothies and it’s not doing so hot:) I make a smoothie with frozen mangos from Trader Joe’s, organic yogurt, honey and flax:) Yummy! I don’t have a regular blender and I’m thinking of all the yummy possibilities!

  135. THIS IS BIG!! I am excited. At present I do not own a blender šŸ™ and most of my meals are on the run- a blender would be so helpful. I do have one experience with a blender like this- At a friends house I was making broccoli soup for us and he suggested doing in the blender- It was all veggies, chicken broth, light cream, and spices- and IT WAS WONDERFUL!

Thank you sponsors for this great giveaway!

  136. My favorite recipe that I use a blender for is DEFINITELY chocolate mousse, made with silken tofu! YUM!!! It’s heavenly.

  137. I love to make smoothies. It is a great way to get kids to eat all sorts of healthy things that they don’t even know they are eating and they think they are having a shake!

  138. Ooohh!!! I’ve only DREAMED of this blender! I love creamy soups with the blender..cream of potato is a winter favorite here!

  139. I would love this blender.

Favorite blender recipe? Hmmm, I’d have to say roasted garlic with sun dried tomato hummus.

  140. I’m a simple kind of girl , I love love smoothies with wheat germ, spinach and pineapple and some sort of juice. My blender just died and my magic bullet is on its way out! This would be like living in a dream… wow…

  141. oh goodness, I have been longing for a Vitamix for quite a while. I can’t drink milk, so I have to buy almond or soy milk from the store. I don’t have a blender and I’m a broke college student, and non-dairy milks aren’t exactly the cheapest thing ever. This would be perfect.

I would also make post-workout smoothies: 3/4 c frozen strawberries, a banana, 1 scoop protein powder, a splash of vanilla almond milk, and whatever berries I have on hand. Mmmm.

  142. umm AWESOME! i’ve been in need of a good blender for a WHILE!! my favorite blender recipe is 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup 2% milk, 1/2 a frozen banana, and 1 tbslp of peanut butter (crunchy works best!) AWESOME!

  143. I use my blender to make green fruit smoothies – frozen spinach, strawberries, and mango, plus orange juice and unsweetened almond breeze! Regular blenders take a while to mix this up though – it’s pretty chunky at first – so I know the VitaMix would solve all my blending problems!!!

  144. I would my favorite use for a blender is making salsa! BUT, if I had a blender that worked well I’d use it for more smoothies…my brand new one doesnt even crush ice!!

  145. Gotta be a banana, PB, Milk, ice smoothie…yum! I have a small kitchen so a VitaBlender would be perfect as a substitute for a food processor which I’ve wanted but have no space for!

  146. So I don’t have a food processor or even a working blender right now, but if I did I would make lots and lots of smoothies with all the frozen fruit stocking up in my freezer and lots of soups! I love me some blended, smooth soup!

    This is an awesome contest!!!

  147. I use my blender all the time but sadly it’s on its last leg and I’m in the market for a new one!

My very favorite use for a blender is to make home-made vegan ice cream. Chocolate hazelnut, cherry chocolate chunk, banana peanut butter, mint chip…my blender gets a great workout. I also love to make green smoothies, especially with kale.

The green smoothies are a big reason that I specifically want a vita-mix! The blender I have now sometimes leaves little green chunks that aren’t so appetizing. I would also love to be able to make home-made raw nut butters on the cheap.

    Oh, how I would love a vita-mix!

  148. Hmmm….FAVORITE blender recipe??? Oh goodness gracious…that takes some serious thought!

Well, my name is Rachel, and I have a problem.
    I am a smoothie-addict.
And a victim of the night munchies.

Sooo…for me to remedy my night munchy-need to keep my mouth busy-trying not to eat every snack in the kitchen problem, I make a smoothie almost EVERY night!! (And that’s saying something since strawberries are now like, over FOUR dollars a container!) I mix a banana, 6-8 strawberries, vanilla extract, sweetner, some yogurt (4 ounces, usually Light ‘n Fit, strawberry, blueberry, or rasberry), a splash of Diet Cranberry-Grape Ocean Spray juice, skim milk, and toonnsss of ice. Seriously, I eat an ENTIRE blender full of smoothie a night. All accompanied by my Kroger pretzel sticks šŸ™‚ And I eat it out of a coffee mug!! My favorites: my CHICAGO mug w/the Chicago skyline, my Chicago BEARS mug with a Bears helmet, and my mug from Pensacola Beach, Florida with the beach painted on it and a BIBLE VERSE!! Proverbs 3:5 to be exact šŸ™‚

Now that I have completely worn out my blogger comment welcome space, I need (aka WANT!) a Vita-Mix Super 5200 because I have oh-so-sadly worn out my own blender šŸ™ That’s what I get for making a smoothie 6 out of the 7 nights a week. That means about 24 smoothies a month, 288 smoothies a YEAR, not including other cooking and baking that I use it for. Like I said, goodness gracious…

P.S. I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!! One of my absolute FAVORITES!! Yay!!

  149. I would love a blender because my girls love smoothies, and because I would love to try making green smoothies as well. My old blender (well it was fairly new) broke šŸ™ so I would love to win this. I use my food processor to make an awesome potato soup. Its great for grating cheese, and then creaming some of the potatoes for the soup.

  150. I love to make chocolate soy milkshakes in blenders, but with a VitaMix I’d love to do so much more–I want to try making salsa, ice cream, and soup.

  151. I love blenders. And really am very jealous of people with really powerful blenders that can deal with all the frozen fruit and ice that go into my smoothies without shaking, getting stuck, or sounding like they may implode. I like to make soup, salsa, smoothies, lassis, and loads more… but one of my favorite smoothies is: an egg white, spinach, rice milk, raspberries, strawberries, cinnamon, and flax. YUM.

  152. with a blender, i love to make any smoothies or pancakes– almost always including bananas and peanut butter. šŸ™‚

  153. I love to make milkshakes and smoothies in my blender. Simple icecream, froyo milk, fruit, ice. However my favorite would have to be a banana pb smoothie made with milk, a banana, pb, and ice!
I know I know i’m boring! But I think that with a vitamix and a new blender I would be able to try so much more! I’m thinking homemade tomato sauce, breadcrums (oh i’m feeling an eggplant parm!), salsa, maybe a recipe with OATMEAL!!!

  154. I love to use my food processor to make yogurt dips, you can throw the ingredients in and just whirl. I use my blender for smoothies, with frozen bananas, milk, and peanut butter. This one looks so versatile, I would love it. Thanks!

  155. I use my blender to puree the roasted red pepper sauce from Ellie Krieger’s cookbook. And whiskey sours are just not the same unless made in a Vita-mix (my aunt has one). By the way Kath (katheats.com) mentioned your contest and that is how I found it! It looks like you have a great blog. I’ll stop in again soon! Katy

  156. I would love to use the VitaMix to grind my Red Hard Wheat. I have been activly adding food items to my food storage and have purchased 100 pounds of Red Wheat…..but I currently don’t have a way to grind it into flour or cracked wheat. This would come up huge.

I have a poor excuse of a mixer and make smoothies almost every night for myself of 2 grand-daughters.

  157. Favorite blender recipe—yorkshire puddings!!!! Absolutely the best but definitely just for holidays since one of the main ingredients is bacon grease.

  158. I want one!!!! My blender is on the fritz and I can’t make my favorite recipe which is banana, strawberry, peanut butter smoothies!

  159. what an awesome contest!

my favorite blender recipe is delicata squas bisque (http://veganyumyum.com/2008/10/delicata-squash-bisque/). i use the blender to make the cashew cream and blend the soup (no hand blender here!), but my old blender can never get the cashew cream perfectly smooth so a new, awesome Vita-Mix blender would be fabulous! Also, I’ve been thinking about making my own fruit juices, and I’ve heard that the Vita-Mix handles that well.

I read about this on Kath’s Blog (KathEats.com), and I’ve posted about it in my own blog, too: mspish.livejournal.com

  160. Hey! I use my blender for just smoothies b/c it pretty much sucks! it was my brother’s and he re gifted it for me for X mas! haha! I wuold love to have this blender!!
    Melissa

  161. this is a dream contest!!! i would love to own a vitamix. i love making smoothies and sauces in the blender. my favorite are green smoothies (spinach, frozen banana, raw nut milk, and oats), but the blender i have now always leaves huge chunks of everything!! it drives me nuts. i have a sensitive stomach so i just love raw foods and smoothies because they help my digestive problems.

i found your site from kelly at the pink apron.

    may the best man/woman win!

  162. Wow, this is huge! I like to use a blender for a really easy cranberry sauce that doesn’t stay in can shape šŸ™‚
Blend 1 apple, 1 orange and 1 regular sized bag of fresh cranberries. Add 1/2 cup of sugar (or to taste). Mix well, preferbaly with a Vitamix :), and eat!

I actually use my Mom’s blender for this–which she got from my Dad’s Mom. It’s quite an antique! I’m sure blenders have come a long way…I would love to see, considering the wonderful Bender’s Blender reviews!

  163. I love to use my current (not-so-great) blender to make green smoothies each morning for my two year old son. I also love to use the blender to puree potato leek soup! My sister is constantly bragging about her Vita-Mix so I would love to have my own! Thanks!

  164. I desperately need to win this product. I have been salivating over these babies for a long time! My favorite thing to make with a blender (but I hear a Vita would make it more AIRY) is mouse! Blend silken tofu, 1.5 bags of melted vegan choc chips, scoop of peanut butter, and sugar. Refrigerate overnight. Shave chocolate on top. Die and go to heaven! Please let me win!

  165. I have been wanting a Vitamix forever! My old blender is just about on its last legs (blades?) and I could really, really, REALLY use a new one! Oh, and The Pink Apron sent me! šŸ™‚

  166. Wow! I love making soups in the blender, especially with winter here in full force and I could really use a new blender!

    Thanks!

  167. Love this contest!
I love making cold cucumber in the summer with greek yogurt, cukes, lime, salt and pepper and a little tomato/avocado garnish. Yum! My (cheap cheap CHEAP) blender is hardly powerful enough to crush ice, so I would love to win this!

I found out about this contest through Kath’s blog (katheats.com) and linked it on my own blog, lilveggiepatch.blogspot.com

Thanks for the chance to win it big! Hehe

  168. I love whipping up creative protein drinks. It’s hard to find a balance sometimes between sweet and way too sweet but I do try. Pick me, Random Number Generator god!

  169. just had to throw out my blender because it was completely busted, and my food processor is from the early 80s so this would be FANTASTIC!

hands down, soup. i’ve been on an insane soup bender lately, my most recent favorite is butternut squash-sweet potato. two of the best fall veggies in one soup.

  170. Hi! Oh, what a nice prize and right here at Christmas…sure hoping I win it! šŸ™‚ One of my favorite blender recipes is for cole slaw. It’s sooooo easy to just cut up your cabbage and carrots into the blender, add some water and chop until it’s as fine as you want it. Then, just dump into a colander and drain off the extra liquid and add your favorite dressing! Lots easier than all that hand-chopping! Thanks for the opportunity to win…gonna tell my daughter to post and if I can’t win I hope she does! šŸ™‚

  171. Very exciting!!!

I like to make my own salsa in my food processor. I use:

    roma tomatoes
    onion
    jalepeno peppers
    cilantro
    S&P
    lime juice

  172. I have to say the best recipe is the best of both worlds. A Vodka Smoothie!! Check out the recipe I used from allrecipes.com: INGREDIENTS
    6 fluid ounces vodka
    18 fluid ounces orange juice
    1 cup frozen strawberries
    4 scoops orange sherbet
    1 cup crushed ice
    Add to Recipe Box

    DIRECTIONS

  173. […]but I thought I’d let you know about a blog giveaway:

Eating Bender is giving away a Vita Mix Super 5200 blender![…]

  174. Oh I have been wanting a vitamix forever! Right now my blender is about to die. I use it waaaay too much for things it probably shouldnt be making like i cream for example. I just to blend frozen banana with milk to make ice cream but they always end up being for like milkshakes since i have to add so much milk. I would say my favorite thing to make a supersmoothies. I add spinach or kale, frozen berries (blueberries are my fav), aloe gel, sometimes raw cacao/carob, sometimes coconut water, and some raw honey oh and lemon juice, yum-o and so good for you!

  175. Great contest! So many possibilities. My 3 favorite things to make would be lassi (Indian smoothie, mango & rose flavors), chutneys (cilantro, cilantro-mint, cilantro-coconut), and soups (butternut squash, tomato-basil)

  176. I love making homemade nut butter (especially almond and cashew). No recipe other than tossing a handful of nuts. Sometime I roast them. Right now I use my champion juicer to make nut butter, but it is a pain to clean. I would love to get a vitamix!

  177. My favorite recipe to make using a blender is my green smoothie. I love how healthy and delicious it is for me. With the Vita Mix blender, I would be able to make vegan ice cream and other raw goodies – the possiblities are endless!

  178. Hello! Halie from comment #13 referred me to your web site and i am also interested in the contest. the blender would come in very handy because i love smoothies and shakes as well.

  179. So cool! My favorite blender recipe is a raw cashew ranch dip I tried at a raw foods uncooking class this summer. I have the recipe but it just doesn’t turn out with my blender now šŸ™ I also haven’t been able to make a decent green smoothie since I’m not a fan of pieces of kale in my smoothie… Man, a Vita-mix would be wonderful!

Oh, and Vegan Nurse referred me šŸ™‚

  180. I make my own healthy nutella spread but can never get it as smooth as store bought. I heard the vitamix can do this however, at this price, I would love to win a free one.

    Thank you, Tamar.

  181. I love using my blender to puree soups and make smoothies, but sadly, my blender is losing his momentum… As long as I don’t tell him I’m entering a contest for a Vita Mix, he’ll keep trying to puree!

  182. Pumped? Oh yes. I was so excited when spunkysuzi posted news of this giveaway on her blog that I raced over here before I even left her a comment. (Bad mannered me, but I’ll fix it.)

I don’t have any blender recipes because I have no working blender. I’ve looked at these vita-mix blenders before, but haven’t taken the plunge yet.

  183. my favorite recipe is a chocolate-banana smoothie that tastes like a frosty….the secret is to use frozen banana and some avocado…you can’t taste it but it makes it perfectly thick & creamy. I need to win a vitamix because I keep causing all of my other blenders to die untimely deaths because of my concoctions!

  184. OMG I would love to get a Vitamix especially because my roommates and I have a borrowed blender without a top. My favorite blender recipe has to be hummus. This has to be one of my favorite foods! I also enjoy blending soups and one of my favorite new dressings which is a curry-ginger sauce that can go on absolutely anything!

  185. I would love this to try and make my own nut butters. There is no way my blender could handle that and I don’t have a food processor.
Just found your blog from Carrots n Cake and look forward to reading!

  186. Our blender is broken but my favorite food processor recipe is an Olive Tapenade recipe. You process black and green olives, parm cheese, butter, parsley and garlic and put it on baguettes and broil in the oven. Delish!
The reason I want a Vita Mix is because my husband has been wanting one for years. He seriously stalks it at Costco. It would definatley be the gift of a life time.
    Thanks!

  187. ICE CREAM!! I babysat for a family who owned a Vita-Mix and I was truly amazed at the power of that bad boy!! The possibilities are endless. We made instant ice cream in it and it was delicious! I would love love love to win this Vita-Mix, all I have now is one of those little scrawny 2-cup mixers. Awesome giveaway!

  188. my favorite blender/food processor recipe? That’s got to be gazpacho! Yummy cold soup — not so much for this season, but perfect in the summer. There’s an amazingly good gazpacho recipe in the book called You on a Diet. (Even if you don’t want to go on a diet, that recipe is tasty!!) I’d like a VitaMix because I have made a big change in my life toward healthy eating, and I’d love to experiment with all the whole foods that can be made into yummy concoctions with the blender… fresh veggie juices, grains, homemade nut butters.

  189. Wow i would love to get my hands on a vita mix! I only have an immersion blender, but it’s good for smoothies and soups. My favorite is black bean soup.

  190. 8 oz light vanilla soy milk; 1 oz almonds; scoop of chocolate soy protein mix. ~250 calories of protein deliciousness!

  191. I’d love to win this!! We just broke our blender. We used it alot!!
Our favorite thing to make in the blender is smoothies! All different kinds of flavors and combinations.

If I won, I have a soup receipe that I want to try.

    Thanks!!!

  192. My favorite pumpkin pie smoothie (couldn’t be easier!)

    -1 cup canned pumpkin
-1/2 cup milk (preferably skim; I find that cow’s milk works better than soy milk)
    -1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
-2 packets of Splenda or other sweetener/sugar
    -3-4 ice cubes

    Blend and enjoy!!!

  193. The berry classy you have on here looks tasty.

My favorite recipe is Berry Orange Smoothies. I got it from recipezaar.

    Ingredients
    1 cup orange juice
1 small banana, peeled, cut up, and frozen
1/4 cup fresh berries or frozen berries
    3 tablespoons low-fat vanilla yogurt

    Directions
In a blender container combine orange juice, frozen banana pieces, desired berries, and yogurt. Cover and blend until smooth.

  194. This is a fantastic giveaway, thanks Jenn!! I would love to have a Vita-Mix blender because I love to make protein shakes for after I work out with protein mix, skim milk, a banana, and peanut butter. I haven’t been able to make one recently though because I’m a poor college student who has to think about paying rent before buying a blender lol

    Thanks again! =)

  195. frozen banana, vanilla, unsweetened chocolate almond milk, cinnamon, one packet stevia.

I could really use this at college, I only have access to a food processor at home!

  196. I make A LOT of random veggie/fruit/yogurt/soy milk smoothies. My friend has a vita-mix and its amazing! My blender is small and it has a hard time blending the thick stalk like veggies. Its getting old and I have a feeling it won’t last that much longer.

My very own vita-mix would be so amazing.

  197. my favorite blender recipe is chocolate mousse made with silken tofu! I’ve been lusting after a vita-mix and I’d love to own one so I can blend soups, smoothies, juices and everything else I can think of!

  198. Great contest! My favotire blender recipe is greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, banana, and chocolate syrup to make a delicious smoothy!! I would love to make ice cream in my very own vita-mix!!!

  199. Even though it’s not showing up here I linked back to you so hopefully it will send more visitors your way. It’s hard not to spread the excitement on such a great giveaway.

  200. Even though it’s not showing up here I linked back to you. It’s hard not to spread the word on such a great giveaway.

  201. Yayyy a super-blender! My favorite thing to make using a blender would be HUMMUS! Simple- can of chickpeas, juice of a lemon, tahini, couple cloves of garlic, some olive/canola oil, cayenne/cumin, and some water! Optional mixins- roast red pepper or jalapenos!

I’d love to have a new blender šŸ™‚ The one I have isn’t so powerful, and I have to jab a spoon in there to get the stuff outta the bottom to mix it around haha.

  202. my favorite blended recipe is one scoop of protein powder, sprinkle of splenda, a whole banana, water and ice – it is fabulous! Great contest!

  203. I love making ice cream in my blender, but my blender hasn’t worked for some time : ( so this would be great.

  204. I really like guacamole. Just add avacado, tomatoes, garlic, lime juice, red onion and presto!

  205. I love any type of smoothie, I make at least once smoothie a day with my blender. But it never blends smooth, hence why I need a Vita-mix blender lol. My favorite smoothie is soy ice cream, soy milk, strawberry jam a little stevia and lots of frozen strawberries. Tastes like a strawberry Julius, but good for you!
I also love using my blender for making the liquid component of seitan!

  206. Orange soup:
    onion
    garlic
    carrots
    squash and/or pumpkin
    pre-cooked orange lentils
    chicken or veggie broth
    potato pearls (for creaminess)
salt and pepper to taste, + tarragon

    Puree, heat and serve

  207. my favorite blended recipe is for pie crust — 1/2 a cup of oatmeal blended with 1 c of whole wheat flour, and 4 tbsp of butter (or an equivalent amount of oil or oil/applesauce mix) and a bit of salt. and three egg whites. it’s super delicious.

my favorite smoothie recipe is one of those simple yogurt + berries ones, w/a bit of protein powder added.

  208. I love making green smoothies with spinach and tons of different fruit! I try to make one every day, but I have a $20 Walmart blender right now and it doesn’t always work so well. I’ve been wanting a Vitamix for a while, but I don’t really see myself getting one any time soon (I’m a poor college kid, oh well). I want to ask for one for Christmas, but it seems weird asking Santa for kitchen appliances since I’m so young, haha.
    Anyway, great contest.

  209. I don’t have a blender and the one I used to have in the ole dorm room certainly didn’t chop foods and was used mostly for alcoholic mixtures. But, if I had a Vita-mix I would make fresh pesto for pasta and pizzas!

  210. Yay! I have heard SO much about the Vita-Mix and am really sad every time I use my regular little blender. =) I use my blender and food processor all the time, usually to make hummus, sauces, and soups. I’m only 15, so I can’t get one, but I would really love to win this Vita-Mix!

  211. What a great give-away!! My smoothies are kinda boring- just soy milk, almond butter, and a frozen banana. Yummy!

  212. My favorite blender recipe:

1 chocolate sugar free pudding cup
    .5 c coffee
.5 c light ice cream (vanilla or chocolate)
    1 oreo cookie
    ice to thicken

    mix!

  213. […] trackback I am overwhelmed – in a good way – by the response I’ve received so far about the Vita-Mix Super 5200 Giveaway! Look at all of you lovely people popping out of the woodwork to comment on my blog Please stop by […]

  214. gotta love the basic green juices. kale, spinach, cucumber, ginger, & apple. yummmm! although, blending soups is also so delicious!! my favorite trick to make vegan chowders taste creamy is by blending potato in—does it every time šŸ™‚

  215. Would you believe I don’t even have a blender anymore? My last (crappy) one met it’s demise trying to crush daiquiri ice. Sadly I have not had a daiquiri since.
I have become dependant on my immersion blender for soups, albeit, I have now become one with the lumps.

  216. I love smoothies:

    1 cup almond milk
    1 scoop protein powder
    1 cup frozen berries/fruit

    Blend and enjoy!

  217. Hi! My favorite recipe to make is Bon Appetit’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus! It is soo good! You can find it at epicurious.com.

I would LOVE to have a vita-mix blender because it is a super blender – making the doubling as a food processor even better!

    Thanks for this opportunity!

  218. My favorite recipe – skim milk, banana, blueberries, ice. I’m using a Waring Blendor that belonged to my grandmother, and it’s starting to have some trouble with the ice . . . so I’d love to win a Vita-Mix!

  219. I’ve heard Vita mix ROCKS b/c it mixes with no troubles at all – I’ve wanted one for a long time now. Vita Mix seems soooooo useful and powerful for every meal but I’d mostly use it for nut butters and my yummy lentil curry soup..yum! Also I am having a baby soon and I plan to make baby (no recipes….yet šŸ™‚

  220. love soup so use it to make healthy soups. My fav use is to make butternut squash soup. Mixes wonderfully. used my vitamix all the time until it broke last week making a smoothie. Vitamix does not like ice. only had it a couple of months. spent a lot of $$ on it at costco. very sad because I can’t find the receipt.

  221. My favorite thing to make is healthy ‘shakes’ for the kids. The like my friends the best.

    2cups water
    3 frozen bananas
2 big spoonfuls of peanut butter
    a squirt of agave nectar
    a splash of vanilla
and fill the rest of the blender up with spinach.

  222. My favorite blender recipe is a smoothy… with ALL frozen fruits. It’s the final texture from the frozen fruits that I like best. The Vita-Mix is the only blender that I’ve seen (at Country Fairs and on TV) that can do that job… I haven’t seen any other blender that can do the job that Vita-Mix can do…

  223. OMG!! I have wanted one of these for sooo long! Please, please, please!

My favorite recipe to make in a blender is vegan peanut butter ice cream.

    one box of silken tofu
    one can of coconut milk
    lots of peanut butter
    vanilla bean – or extract
    maple syrup

Chill it and put it in the ice cream maker. Sometimes I blend in some chocolate sauce at the very end. yummmy

    Lindsey referred me

  224. If I had a vitamix I would make my favorite raw kombocha squash soup with cashews, korean chili paste, tamari, garlic and lemon. Perfect for winter….spicy and warming yet so healthy! I used to work at a raw food restaurant and would love to recreate some of my favorite dishes that I haven’t been able to with my poorly functioning old blender. I would be overjoyed to have a Vita-mix. Thanks.

  225. Ya know, I can’t say I have a favourite blender recipes since I don’t even own a proper blender! Hence why I would be so excited were I to win this lovely machine. You can’t go wrong with a good smoothie – my fave combo is banana, peanut butter, milk, and vanilla protein powder. Yum!

  226. WHAT A GREAT GIVEAWAY!!
    .. Thanks šŸ™‚
My favorite recipe to blend is definately any type of smoothie.. Ice, soymilk, yogurt & Fruits. Also Margaritas.. Yummy.. I would LOVE to win this.. I would definately love my own blender to make my own smoothies.. I end up going to a smoothie place like Jamba Juice to get my smoothie fix!

  227. This is by far the best giveaway on blogland yet that I have heard about!! I love blenders for smoothies especially because I used to work at Jamba Juice and now I love making my own smoothie. My fav combo is strawberries/bananas/milk/pb/granola topped with banana slices– it’s to die for!

  228. Woo I am asking for a new blender for Christmas but maybe I won’t have to! My favorite recipe is a banana chocolate peanut butter protein shake. Frozen banana, protein powder, pb and some soy milk. Yum!

  229. I would so love one of these! I drink 3 shakes a day and they never come out like the gyms!
My favorite blender recipe is butter nut squash soup!
Take roasted squash, roasted onions, spices and broth. Blend when cooled slightly. Awesome

  230. I really, rally want a Vitamix. This has been on my wish list for ages. I’m a raw foodist, so I depend on my blender (3 third one I’ve had in less than 2 years) and my food processor. It would be great to have one high-powered blended to replace both. My current favorite recipe is persimmon pudding. Blend 2 ripe, spotted bananas with 4 fuyu persimmons until smooth and creamy. This is delicious. I’ll definitely be providing a link back to this give-away on my blog. Thanks!

  231. OOOOOO, I’ve ogled this kind of blender for a long time! i mostly use my immersion blender which works well for my favorite smoothie – cranberry juice, frozen cherries, frozen pineapple, non-fat yogurt and a scoop of protein powder – delicious!

  232. My favorite blender foods include pesto, peanut butter and banana smoothies, and crepe batter. What a great contest!!!! I would love to win a VitaMix!

  233. My sister Janine sent me here (she told you about her chocolate almond milk milkshake)!

Our blender broke….not that I ever used it because I would probably lose a hand….but my sister used it ALL the time. My favorite smoothie was just a simple Strawberry-Banana smoothie that she made me for breakfast sometimes. Thanks!

P.S. I really like your blog!

  234. My family loves my Potato Leek soup. I use a blender to liquefy about half of the soup to make it thicker. Mine quit on me last season and I haven’t replaced it. Would love a Vita Mix – they’re awesome. Thanks for hosting the contest.

  235. I want this! Mostly to make pureed soups and super icy fruit smoothies. I’ve been coveting one since the first time I saw them demo’d at Costco but could never justify the price. But I can justify free.

  236. Oh! I would love to win the blender! I have to go with the smoothie as my fav. blender treat. Always has yogurt and banana and a little milk, then adding any other fruit to the mix!

  237. My favorite things to make with a blender are smoothies (starwberry/blueberry with Kefir are my favorite)and iced slushie coffees. The reason I would like to win the Vita Mix blender (other then it being the COOLEST blender EVER)- – I would LOVE to make any kind of nut butters–I have killed many a blender trying. šŸ™

  238. What would I do with a Vita-Mix Super 5200? Everything I’ve been dreaming to do for the past 2 years. My husband and I moved from a house in the US to a tiny dorm room in the UK 2 years ago so he could finish his PhD. Since we have limited storage/kitchen space, we have done without a blender ever since we moved. I’ve been dying to make smoothies, pesto, hummus and other bean dips, pureed soups, nut butters, pie fillings, etc. I’m intrigued by the dry blade feature. And ice cream?! Oh, the possibilities….

I don’t have a favorite recipe but I do want to try to make some interesting nut butter flavors like PB with honey and cayenne; almond with 5 spice, etc.

  239. Who wouldn’t want a vita-mix blender?? And since mine broke last month I am relegated to the hand blender for now:) My favorite recipe is a sweet potatoe smoothie with whey, peanut butter, ice and a dash of cinammon-yum!

  240. I love smoothies! And while my babies were little i made them baby food. It was so good for them.

  241. I have to make shakes everyday for my son so, he can gain weight. He is on growth Hormones. His favorite is yogurt with banana’s, honey, and any other fruit I have in the house. Mine blender is starting to leak so, now I have been using a shaker. I could really use a new blender.

  242. Here’s the thing: I HAVE NO BLENDER!!! As crazy as that is, it’s true! SO I NEED ONE, badly!!!

When I did have one though, I loved making smoothies in them with milk, ice, and frozen fruit…that’s it! YUM!

  243. my favorite recipe for the blender is a smoothie with raw coconut meat, a mango, almond milk, almond butter, vanilla, and flax seeds. Mmm smoothies. I would love a vitamix.

  244. Haha, looks like a longshot, but why not? šŸ™‚

I LOVE smoothies! And I’ve jumped on the green bandwagon too, so now I’m glad to have some dark leafy greens for breakfast too.

    Fingers crossed xx

  245. I love to make sauces, tomato, pesto etc with a blender, but mine stinks at getting things truly blended. I would love to improve the texture with a Vitamix

  246. I love making a spicy green smoothie with spinach, mango, banana, papaya, jalepeno and lime juice NOM NOM NOM

I would love a vitamix because I have a blendtec but the vitamix fans still say its better and I would love to try em out HEAD TO HEAD!

  247. My staple blended drink right now is:
    Almond milk
    Banana
    Sweet potato
    Honey
    Protein Powder(Spirutein)
    Dash vanilla
    Spinach
What I really want the vitamix for is to make a supersmooth version of my sons nutritional supplement “vitamin juice.” He’ll probably need to be on some version of this prescribed remedy for most of his childhood years(he won’t take capsules or pills of any kind). That and the idea of being able to whip up batches of ice cream and superfresh soups blows my mind!
    I was referred by Lindsey.

  248. Wow! What a great giveaway! Sadly, I can’t share my favourite blender recipe as I have actually never owned a blender! Crazy, I know. My parents got a blender at home the year I left for college, and so I’ve never known the wonder of blender-ized food! Which meant that I didn’t really think of needing a blender while I’m at school either. I would love to be able to try all the fantastic looking recipes that require a blender on your blog, as well as on so many others that I’ve seen!

I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Vita-Mix, so hopefully I can try it out for myself and have a great first blender experience!

    Thanks Jenn!

I linked on my blog, although it’s not showing up here yet. I’ll throw in the link just to be safe! [http://courteatsu.wordpress.com/2008/12/10/anthropology-exam-check/]

  249. I love blending green smoothies with spinach, avocado, mango, and coconut water – AND – of course blended soups for the cold months.

  250. Vita-Mix? Drool. This blender could take my cooking (or raw food “uncooking”) to the next level. I love making dips, sauces, soups, and smoothies, but a Vita-Mix is vital to make super smooth smoothies and my own nut butters! Nothing compares to freshly ground nut butters. And your own green smoothies? Being able to grind your own seeds for dips and spreads? Heaven!

  251. […] 10, 2008 To stick with the giveaway theme, along with Eating Bender’s Blender Giveaway, ZestyCook is also jumping on the giveaway bandwagon to celebrate the 100th post on the site! So […]

  252. Oooo, I saw your site on Oh She Glows and now I’m settling in to read your whole blog!

My favorite blender/food processor treat to make is goat cheese dip. It’s simple: Just put one part goat cheese, one part cream cheese, and a handful of your favorite herbs (I like throwing in chives and coriander). So delicious! Unfortunately, I don’t have a blender or a food processor, so I only get to make this when I’m hanging out with someone who does.

  253. I’ve always wanted to own a nice blender like this so I can make my own hummus (which i’ve never done before)! I typically use blenders for frozen fruit smoothies. Hope I win!

  254. my favorite recipe is a quick smoothie of milk/yogurt with fresh fruit. yum! this vita-mix 5200 looks totally awesome!!! i’d like to win it because my sweetie and i love kitchen gadgets of all sorts.

  255. I love making green smoothies every morning — except I add blueberries so it’s really a purple smoothie. Here’s what I had in my breakfast smoothie today: banana, kale greens, ground flax, blueberries, bee pollen, frozen peaches. Yum!

I’d love to own a vitamix because, well, it’s the ultimate machine — my current blender is quite geriatric and cranky.

  256. This is so fantastic!
My favorite blender creation is hummus! It is so much cheaper than buying store-made hummus…and simple, too. I add a can of chickpeas to a can of black beans, a little olive oil, tahini, hot sauce, and lime juice. I usually add some fresh cilantro for flavor, and it is delicious!
Unfortunately my blender (which was my mom’s first blender) has recently kicked the bucket, so I would LOVE to have a new one!

  257. Count me in for the giveaway! I have a cheep blender that is used everyday and I’m burning out it’s motor. I would be very grateful for the best-of-best Vitamix!

I make smoothies for my family’s breakfast. Some include berries, frozen bananas and juice (orange or apple). An indulgence of mine is raw cacao powder and bananas mixed with water!

  258. I would L-O-V-E a Vita-Mix! I would use it for smoothies, soups, dips, and making nut milks. I am sure I would find more ways to use it too. Yum.

  259. Next time you get a cantaloupe (or some other kind of sweet melon) save the seeds and pulp that you scoop out of the inside.

Keep them in the fridge and the next morning you can have this lovely smoothie:

Put the seeds of one cantaloupe into the blender with about a cup of filtered water.
Blend well and strain with colandar, cheesecloth, nut milk bag, whatever

Put the strained seed juice back in the blender and add one chopped small carrot 4 dates and 2 ice cubes.

Blend the blue blazes out of it, pour in your favorite glass and, oh, my is that goooood!

  260. I would love this blender! I have been trying to look for a wet/dry blender within the $150 budget range for the longest time. I want to be able to mix the ingredients for my baking and still make smoothies.

Walnuts+cranberries+whole wheat flour = yummy cookies!

  261. I don’t even own a measley $30 junk blender, but I have a freezer stocked with frozen fruit. Every morning I crunch on the fruit and it kills my teeth because I’m too hungry for it to thaw…I would much rather throw it in the blender for a yummy smoothie!

  262. My favourite blender recipe is margaritas! I love trying out new flavours.

I would LOVE a vita-mix mainly due to the wet and dry blades it has…currently my blender HATES anything dry.

  263. My favorite blender recipe right now is green smoothies. I make blueberries, lettuce and orange juice for my young children. I would use the increased horsepower of the Vitamix blender to expand on making green smoothies and grain recipes.

  264. Carrie at http://newlywedgal.blogspot.com referred me to your blog and your contest šŸ™‚

I don’t own a blender OR a food processor šŸ™ but from reading your archived entries, if I win, the very first recipe I’ll try is “BB + SS = I” smoothie. It’s making my mouth water!

    Have a great day!

  265. Hey, my favorite recipe for a blender would have to be some type of raw soup, cauliflower hummus, or nut butter. the vita-mix would most definitely make the creamiest of these! It would have no problem breaking down vegetables and leafy greens (which usually never fully break down in regular blenders), and completely pulverizing nuts and seeds into creamy butters. Also, pureeing coconuts would be a breeze! i get excited about the possibilities just thinking about it!
Also, the price of one is pretty out of my budget right now. I would love a free one!

  266. My trusty blender is always there for me when I need a good smoothie. šŸ™‚

I feel so late entering the contest, sorry I’m so behind! šŸ™‚

  267. I don’t own a blender currently but I do enjoy making fresh hummus.

My mom recently had her first major flare up of colitis and she purchased a Vita-Mix so she could start enjoying more nutrients from fresh veggies. It has been great to see how having the juice has helped her body calm itself down. I would love to be able to enjoy the benefits of fresh vegetable and fruit juices as well.

  268. i LOVE hummus and having a vitamix i could make it all the time! Its hard to find a quality hummus in the store…especailly since im spoiled from the good stuff they make in philly

  269. I love smoothies : banana, soy milk, and frozen fruit. But, were I to have a vita-mix, I make raw tomato sauce with dehydrated tomatoes and veggies.

  270. Whoo-hooo! I would *love* a vita-mix! I like to make green smoothies–smoothies with fruit and greens in them for extra nutrition–and I be the vita-mix could get them super smooth and really blend those greens well!

    Courtney

  271. I love to make smoothies, but I really call them mock sorbets cause I make them really thick and eat them with a spoon. Lately I have been adding spinach and greens to up my veggies, can’t even tell there in it!
This Vitamix would be perfect since my blender is a hand me down from the early 90’s and its on its last leg…it even growls at me sometimes šŸ™‚

  272. My favorite blender recipe:
    PB Cookie Shake

Scoop cookies n cream protein powder
    Peanut Butter
    Milk
    Ice

  273. Oh, how I want a Vitamix so badly! I have a KitchenAid, but I make smoothies and fresh hummus all the time, and the thing is a pain to clean!

  274. My favorite food to make with a food processor (don’t have a blender) would be HUMMUS!

If I had a blender, you betcha I would be making smoothies. With strawberries. And other delish items.

  275. I would love a new blender. I recently broke my blender trying to crush some ice. My favorite blended drink is any combination of yogurt and fruits. I like to throw in the light orange juice because it gives it a little kick. I also love to mix the weight watchers smoothie mixes.

  276. Two words “GREEN SMOOTHIES!’ LOVE them!

Also, maybe a great way to blend some veggies and sneak them into something for my 11 year old!

  277. I think my favorite, overly simple blender recipe is a plain ol’ chocolate malt. My grandmother would make them for me on special occassions. And once, in High School, I killed a KitchenAid blender because I didn’t have enough milk for the ice cream… The poor thing fell victim to my over zealous cravings for a shake. But, I have since learned the errors of my ways.

    So yeah…
Milk, vanilla ice cream, Hershey’s syrup, and powdered malt. mmmmm…

And now that I’m healthier I definetly making a variety of hummus.

  278. I love to use my blender to make salad dressing and to make seitan.
It doesn’t have that much power so…..pick me pick me pick me:)

  279. I’m not gonna lie, my favorite thing to make in the blender is a extra chocolately, super thick milkshake.

  280. I use my blender a lot, mostly for protein smoothies, but my most favorite thing is this dark chocolate avocado mousse that I posted in my blog a few days ago…but I rarely make it because it is such a PITA with my blender!!

I will most definitely be linking back to this post tomorrow….I’ll come back and comment again.

Aaand, I was referred here by Paulina at http://www.veggout.blogspot.com

  281. HOLY comments! I hope I win šŸ˜€ I’ll try to send some friendies over! I don’t blend too much b/c I hate cleaning the contraptions…but I used to LOVE making my own frappuccinos with coffee, milk, ice and mocha powder! Much cheaper and tasty..

  282. My favorite things to blend right now is cashews, into a cashew cream for sauces. I’m in love with miso cashew gravy. Unfortunately my blender died so I’m using my less-than-stellar food processor and ending up with chunky sauces. Awesome contest!

  283. Heated blended apples+agave+cinnamon+almond butter=blender apple pie filling, perfect for spooning onto toast or into oats!

  284. I’ve actually tried making pesto in a blender. This was before I discovered the wonders of a food processor. Pesto consisted of spinach (no fresh basil on hand at the time), dry basil, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper.
    -Vicky

  285. What an amazing giveaway! My favorite blender recipe is any sort of blended soup, mostly because I don’t have a blender right now and I always crave soup this time of year! Something yummy with squash and a lot of spices.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the winner!

  286. I love the tortilla soup they make during the Vitamix demo! How cool is that? Fresh veggies, some black beans, corn and tortilla chips and WOW! I would love to do that at home – and hummus! Yum. I eat it every day and would love to make my own. It just doesn’t come out right for me. Maybe with Vitamix it would.

  287. Boy do I need this blender! I enjoy making green smoothies…my current blender doesn’t handle it well. My fave is baby spinach and blackberries. It is a fight to get my blender to mix the greens in – I guess because they are lighter? Anyway…thanks so much for the opportunity!!!!

  288. Oh my gosh! A free Vitamix!!

I make a green smoothie every single morning with 2 small bananas, a generous heap of kale or spinach or collards, a teaspoon of bee pollen or coconut oil, and a tablespoon of hemp protein powder. I can’t imagine starting my day without one.

I’m a high-raw vegan and would love a Vitamix for soups, nut purees, puddings, and much more!

  289. Date-walnut ‘fudge’ balls – surprisingly delicious!

8 oz pre-soaked dates (blend these)
    4 oz walnuts (blend ’em)
2 tbsp (or to taste) dark cocoa powder
    1 tsp vanilla extract

Blend everything until the mixture is fairly smooth. Form mixture into balls and roll in shredded coconut, if desired.

A Vita Mix would help me actually blend everything successfully! My dinky blender cannot compare!

These disappear pretty fast when I make them!

  290. I have been all smiles ever since I saw this contest. I cannot even begin to describe how much I want a Vita-Mix Blender! I use my blender pretty much everyday – making smoothies, soup, salsa, salad dressing, etc. etc. Last year I got a raw cookbook as a gift, and have been very excited to try some of the recipes (nut milk, etc.) – but I need a really good blender first. The blender I have now leaks and sounds like the blade is burning out – it’s just not meant to be used everyday! Thank you so much for offering one of us a Vita-Mix. This is sooooo exciting!!! šŸ™‚

  291. WOW! I love to make soups and using the Vita-Miz Blender would make it a lot easier. All the veggies in the blender and whirl away. I am hoping and praying I win this contest, but if not, I hope whoever wins enjoys it.

  292. I would love to have a Vita-Mix! While I have a food processor, things like hummus would be much easier. I would probably start eating smoothies at home and not only when I’m out and about.

  293. Mmm…smoothies. I’ve got a stick blender now, but it’s not so great for smoothies. My ex got the blender in the break-up. Grr.

    Thanks for hosting this contest!

  294. I WOULD LOVE a Vita- Mix! It is on my wish list. I have a 15$ blender that is about to leave blender world. My fav thing to make is Almond Milk and my favorite Green Smoothie.

    šŸ™‚

  295. My ancient garage-sale vitamix finally kicked the bucket. I loved that thing, even though it sounded like a 747 was landing in the quiet woods around me!

I’d love to win this, of course. Thank you for having this contest – and good fortune to all who enter!

  296. I would love to win this!!!! My favorite thing to make in a blender would probably have to be smoothies. I like to make mine with nonfat milk, pb, yogurt and a banana. I could use this blender because I broke mine trying to make myself a smoothie. šŸ™

  297. Oooh, my favorite blender recipe is avocado shakes. They are delish! Other faves are nut butters and hummus.

I would love to win the Vita Mix because it could expand the possibilities of things I could make with a blender.

Thanks! btw, I was referred by Erin Wimmer, erinwimmer@hotmail.com

  298. Hi! I would love to win this, my partner and I spend many happy hours imagining what we could make with a Vita-Mix. I love to make tapenade by combing olives (any kind), garlic, lemon, and capers. He loves to experiment with different kinds of hummus. We both want to make more food at home for the health and environmental benefits (less packaging).

  299. I’m Terry’s partner, and like she said, I love to make hummus. I’ve experimented with tomato, olive, and spicy hummus. With a Vita-Mix I could create many more recipes. It would also help me create less garbage and eat a healthier diet.

  300. Favorite vitamix recipe is currently
    CASHEW CREAM…
    1 cup soaked cashews
    1tsp ume vinegar
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    2 tsp agave
    pinch salt
    pinch lemon zest

vroom and top your desserts with goodness!
    Teddy

  301. This isn’t very original but I love to make protein shakes and smoothies. It is hard to mix them without a blender especially when protein powder cakes at the bottom of the glass or when I want to use peanut butter (my favorite food ever!).

  302. I got rid of my old blener when I moved so I would love to win this!! I miss making healthy milkshakes with yogurt (or frozen yogurt), milk, bananas, frozen fruits (strawberries, blueberries) maple syrup and orange juice.

  303. Us raw foodies use our blenders and food processors all the time. I would LOOOVE me a Vita-Mix and will gladly donate my ho-hum blender to Volunteers of America this holiday season. šŸ˜€

I sure could have used a Vita-Mix this morning as I was blending up a batch of yummy Holiday Sugar Plums.

  304. My favorite blender recipe is my mom’s gazpacho. Which is particularly funny because my mom does not cook (or uncook:). It’s yummy and healthy and simple and refreshing and I love it.

I have a blender now, but quite frankly, I kill a lot of blenders, and it’s only a matter of time before this one goes too šŸ™‚

  305. My favorite recipe is blended silken tofu with almond extract, cinnamon, and sugar..its like a proteiny yummy breakfast pudding!
Im going away to college and i wont be able to afford much of anything becasue the cost of tuition is sooo high and i doubt i wouldnt be able to afford one until many years after i pay back my debt. I need to blend. blending is my life.

  306. Why do I want a Vitamix? So I can liquify grape skins and kale in my breakfast green smoothie!
    Wendilou’s Reboot Smoothie:
juice of 4 carrots, 4 celery ribs, 1 knuckle of ginger and 1 apple,
blended with 1 cup of red grapes and a blender full of curly kale.
The blender I have now doesn’t quite do the trick. I became a Raw Vegan 6 weeks ago and having a Blender is a necessity. Having a Vitamix Blender would be the ultimate appliance in my kitchen! I could make awesome nut milks, raw marinara sauce, raw soups, endless smoothies, carob pudding, and so much more!

  307. My favourite would have to be a classic banana smoothie, with extra yogurt and ice cream in summer. My sister Carla (veganyear.blogspot.com) put me on to this. And I live in New Zealand, not North America, but should lady luck fall my way can you send the blender prize to her? She’d love me forever…

  308. Hello!!!! My favortie blender recipe is sooooooooo esay, but very delicious!!

    1 cup frozen strawberries
    1 cup frozen pineapple
    1 cup fresh apple juice
    1 cup fresh orange juice

That is the most heavenly thing to come out of my blender!!

I would want to (no, I would LOVE to) own a Vita-Mix so I could make so many fast, delicious, raw recipes… even ice cream! wow, what a dream : )

  309. In addition to smoothies (frozen cherries, chocolate protein powder, and soy milk is a recent fave) and pesto sauce, I’ve been using my old blender to blend a can of garbanzo beans (drained with the equivalent in water added back). I add the finely ground bean slush to a box of trader joe’s truffle brownie mix. That’s it. Bake and YUM!

  310. I make smoothies as much as I can.. so that generally happens more in the summer than winter, but having a good blender is key. I can’t remember off the top of my head what brand my blender at home is, but it works alright. Not nearly as good a vitamix would of course, but it gets the job done. Food processors on the other hand are a bit harder to come by. It seems like everything is plastic these days..

    Very neat giveaway.

  311. What a wonderful opportunity. I am a 80/10/10 raw foodist that would love a vita mix. šŸ™‚ Favorite recipe….hmmmm….everything I make I enjoy as long as it is made with fresh ripe organic fruits and vegetables when possible. A soup I love is tomato, red pepper and pineapple soup. It is delicious. Have a great day and hopefully who ever wins enjoys their blender. Thanks.

  312. my favorite thing is a simple green smoothie. I take about 2 really big handfulls of spinach and 2 kale leaves, add some frozen berries and a frozen banana, a squirt of agave and just enough soy to thin it all out… YUM!!

  313. I want and need a Vitamix because it has multiple uses. I can blend, juice chop, iron & press (Well, maybe not that but you catch my drift).
With the Vitamix, I don’t have to be concerned about having to purchase a food processor or twin-gear juicer. It would save me money and counter-space.
So far, my favorite smoothie recipe is as follows:
    6 oz of frozen blueberries
    1 Granny Smith apple
2 scoops of Hemp Maca e3Live Protein Powder
    agave nectar to taste

    Ummm..yummy!

  314. I love to make hummus! So easy! I would like this blender because my roommate broke my smoothie-maker and never replaced it.

  315. my fav blender recipes are smoothies for my toddler (and me too!) I often add hemp protein or flax for extra goodness. My blender is used on a daily basis and with the pending motor burn-out, replacing it with a vitamix would be a dream!

  316. I’m a raw vegan who makes heavy use of blenders. My favorite smoothie is a simple banana and celery recipe.

  317. Mmm… iced cappucinnos are just about the perfect drink using the blender. But, for now, I really love the blender for pureeing soups — last week was Spicy Carrot and Celery soup. All it took was some softened carrots, onions, celery, water…and my food processor! The Vita-Mix would let me experiment with tons of new dishes, soups, drinks, and help me get going on all the juicing I hear about…

  318. How exciting! My current favorite blender recipe is:
    3-4 ripe bananas
    1/2 bag fresh cranberries
    3/4 cup water
(if it’s too tart, add some cut-up dates)

I’m using my Mom’s old blender, but it leaks out the bottom & doesn’t have much power. I would love to have a Vita-Mix so I could make some healthy Green Smoothies using fresh greens with fruit or vegetables.

    Thanks for the opportunity.

  319. My favorite thing to make in a blender is definitely icecream! Cream sauces, too. My current blender just doesn’t have the power to blend some of the things that I would like to be able to blend (especially thicker things like hummus) so the Vita Mix would be awesome!

  320. my best blendy is my homemade salsa! fresh, tangy, spicy and absolutely delicious on everything from scrambles to black beans. yummy!!!

  321. Oh my goodness… I am a blending fanatic!! I LOVE making raw oatmeal out of bananas and apples!! Sometimes when I’m feeling feisty I’ll throw in a few strawberries ;).

  322. OMG I love the VitaMix. My favorite thing to make is a smoothie with mixed berries, banana, and yogurt. You can get most of your fruit in for the day!!

  323. My dear sweet mom was very sick a year ago and the thing that got her balanced back on her feet were some apricot smoothies. That was the only thing she could actually digest by that time. She is now well, back doing her gardening and would really love a blender that would actually blend up those skins the way she needs them to be blended. She is also starting to sprout things and needs those greens and sprouts broken up better, so she can drink them, too. That is why I need a blender, to give to her, and aid her in her health so she can live a much longer and healthier life! I saw this on rawfu.com from earthmother.

  324. weeehohoho. i would like a vita-mix because i can’t juice or puree anything! which extremely stinks. if i had one, i’d use it for grinding my own flour, making chocolate silk (tofu) pie! and smoothies. i’ve been dying to try a green smoothie.

  325. I can’t believe I stumbled on your site! I have wanted a VitaMix since I saw it at a home show years ago! It is so-o-o expensive though. I have just started eating RAW for a healthier life (the heart disease and diabetes in my family scare me) and this would be such a blessing!
My favorite recipe (besides smoothie) is RAW tomato sauce:10 or so ripe romas, 1 clove garlic, a little basil to taste. YUM!
Recipe I want to try in the VitaMix: cream of brocolli soup.
    Thank you for this chance!

  326. i love using my blender to cook! but a vitamix would be so amazing!!! my favorite ”blended recipe” would be vegan pumpkin pie. (pumpkin, soy milk, molasses, brown sugar, spices, and arrowroot poweder) voila! šŸ™‚

  327. wow, this is such an incredible giveaway! I had no idea that such a versatile blender existed (juices, nut butters, AND ice cream? visions of fresh carrot juice, almond butter, and sorbet are dancing in my head *-*). As for my favorite blended food, I often use my magic bullet to make baba ganoush and edamame hummus. Thanks for hosting this contest (and for introducing me to my dream blender)!

  328. This is fabulous. At the moment I am transitioning to a diet mainly composed of fruits and dark greens (80/10/10). I use my old mixer, was my mom’s, to make my smoothies. I eat smoothies in the morning, at lunch and sometimes at around 4:00pm. My mixer does an ok job, but I’m usually chewing chunks as well as drinking the smoothie. At the moment there are salad dressings and soups I can’t make because my mixer isn’t powerful enough. I could really use a VitaMix. My favorite recipe is Orange juice~ about 6 to 8 oranges. I loved to drink a frothy, non-chunky orange juice!

  329. My favorite recipe is a fruit smoothie: 2 cups of better than milk soymilk, 2 tablespoons of your favorite nut butter or walnuts, 2 bananas, and enough frozen fruit for your favorite consistency. Throw in a handful of baby carrots, grape tomatoes or a leaf of kale/spinach for added nutrients.

  330. My favorite thing to make with a Vitamix is smoothies! They are so delicious and easy, and a snap to clean up too.

I currently have a very old clunky version of the Vitamix, and I’d like to give a new one to my parents for Christmas. They deserve it. Of course, I’d use it, too – all the time!

  331. OMG, I don’t have a vitamix, but if I had one, I sure would use it A LOT! I am a vegetarian healthy food PERSON! I have a Kitchen Aide Blender that I use now, for healthy smoothies (so NOT the same!) What a GREAT giveaway!

  332. Currently use a blender to puree soups. Favorite soup at the moment is carrot/parsnip with coconut milk. Other ingredients are onion, garlic and ginger. I also use stock and seasonings.Family loves it. I am sure with Vita Mix it would short cut the process and make the soup creamier and smoother. Would finds tons of uses from smoothies to dressings.

  333. Love the red color! My favorite blender recipe is the vegan “Cheese Whiz” recipe from the Uncheese Cookbook.

  334. Mmm…I love making hummus in the blender…and pesto with the basil overtaking my garden…and smoothies with cranberries, pineapple, and yogurt.

And tomato bisque soup with veggies and wild rice. So delicious.

  335. This is the best! My favorite blender (or rather food processor – since I don’t have the VitaMix, yet) recipe would have to be hummus. Any and all variations. I could put hummus on absolutely anything, and having a VitaMix would make it that much better. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!!

  336. What a neat give away. I’m a college student too who is on her third yes third blender. I don’t have the funds to buy a blender as nice a vitamix since I’m paying for college myself.

My favorite smoothie recipe is called black and blue bomber. It has basically blueberries, blackberries, banana, some apple juice and some frozen raspberries. Delicious!! Sometimes I kick it up with some greens!

I usually have a couple ok a few smoothies a day before school and sometimes after the gym or in between classes. If I had a vitamix it would make things so much easier and I would be able to make more of the recipes from books friends and family have given me without being afraid of breaking the blade off my blender from all the greens.

  337. I want a Vita-mix blender so my fiancƩ can make me smoothies, etc. I was referred by Courtney, post # 267.

  338. Oh my goodness, what a great contesto! Most especially since it gives us Canadians a chance too hehe.

Honestly, I think my favourite blended concoction would have to be iced coffee, just because I make it so darn often. I would never have discovered my blended iced coffee if it weren’t for some great blender loving. I don’t know how I could have survived all summer without it. I also love just blending up some plain ol’ fruit and protein powder smoothies, OR some BLENDED OATS. Gotta love it. Thanks for letting me know about the contest! šŸ™‚

  339. I’d love to have this blender to actually make good smoothies, since I haven’t made one in a while. I usually make a strawberry banana smoothie, nothing special. I’d love to make some coffee drinks, though!

  340. Wow this contest just might go down in food blogger history! I cannot believe how many comments there are. Guess everyone wants a vitamix as much as me. Hey, it’s cool because I’ve discovered your wonderful blog now! (btw good luck reading all these comments). Well I must say that I’m very unoriginal in that my favorite blender recipe is any sort of smoothie. Although if I had a powerful vitamix I think that I would use it a lot for making nut butters!

  341. Unfortunately my old blender has finally retired! But before it did my favorite things to make were apple, squash, and cinnimon soup, and pumpkin pie pudding!

  342. mmm… breakfast smoothies!
usually, some spinach, kale, soy milk, banana, dates, and brown rice protein will do it!

    however…

i happen to have a case of mangoes and some blueberries! my smoothies for the next week have just become WAY more exciting šŸ™‚

  343. oops forgot to say why I’d like to own a vitamix in my post 421. Which is pretty easy to answer as well – it is the most touted blender out there everyone I know with one can’t do without it. My fingers are crossed!

  344. My favorite recipe would be any smoothie that I can just throw together. Fruit yogurt or ice cream and milk. I love them for breakfast or snack or just about anytime. Thanks for the chance!!! I’m new to your blog.

  345. jenn, this is amazing! My favorit eblender recipe would be summer raspberry smoothie with vanilla frozen yogurt, honey, ground flax seeds and raspberries – sometimes a dash of milk šŸ™‚

  346. I have always wanted Vitamix. My fav blender recipe would have to be a mango smothie, or any kind of smothie! Fresh fruit, yogurt mmmmmmmmmmm good. Happy Holidays!

  347. Awesome! I’ve wanted a Vita-Mix for quite some time now, but I could never afford one. I’ve been vegan for years, but live in a small town where finding good food is often impossible. Being able to make my own healthy vegan breads, and hummus, and nut butters, and quick soups and smoothies would be amazing.

I’m also trying to help my father transition to a healthier diet after a few recent health problems, and a Vita-Mix would make that transition a ton easier, and a lot more likely to actually happen.

I don’t really have many favorite blender recipes at the moment… because I don’t have a blender. I do make smoothies when I get the chance. Mostly soy milk, banana, flax seeds, and frozen blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. I do have my eye on a few recipes I hope to try soon though.

Anyway, thanks for the chance. šŸ™‚

  348. We’ve been thinking about getting a Vita-Mix for some time now. This giveaway sounds like the perfect time! šŸ™‚ My wife is the “blender queen” of the house, and makes wonderful smoothies, hummus, and dressings. She’s already worn out one blender and the second is showing signs that the end is near.

It’s hard to pick out a favorite recipe, but a juice we had at a restaurant this weekend inspired me to try something when we get a Vita-Mix. It had fresh Fuji apple juice that had to have been made from fresh apples, plus mango and a few other things. The freshness of everything really made the difference!

  349. Oh Man. Oh Wow. “Tis the Season to BLEND!!
How I would cherish, treasure, adore this VitaMix Blender.
I would lovingly fill it with glorious, healthy, natural ingredients every day and let it work it’s magic as I pursue my goal of a healthier, more energetic me in 2009!
Thank you for this amazing Christmas giveaway!!

  350. WOWW I am sad to say that the blender I received when I moved out of my parents house was their WEDDING GIFT .. needless to say, I have not done much blending as it just leads to frustration!! I would love to use it to make dips (black bean, guac) and soups (squash, pumpkin), along with smoothies!!!

  351. I am so grateful for this contest! I make green smoothies in my regular blender – they keep me full until lunch with no cravings and no low blood sugar episodes – yaay! However, I have been “craving” a Vita-mix for a while now! Here’s a recipe for all you bloggers:

    1-2 c. raw spinach
1/2 c. roughly chopped (peeled) beet
    1/3 cucumber (peeled)
    1 mango
    1 banana
1-2 tbsp olive oil or 1/2 avocado or handful of nuts of your choice
water – 1-2 c., depending on how thick you like it.

    to your health!
    Nicole

  352. I have been seriously been toying with the idea of moving more towards a Raw lifestyle. I have gotten the family juicing with great success. It is satisfying seeing the five y/o not only drinking veggies I couldn’t pay her to eat, but watching her put them in the juicer herself! Success!!!

Thanks for the honest review, it is most helpful when purchasing expensive equipment like this! Good luck to everyone!

    Christine

  353. I’ve owned a vita-mix in the past. Gave it to my 88 year old mom who needed help with getting her veggies and fruits in each day. I now would love to have another one. With my first Vita-mix, I lost approximately 50 pounds doing the shakes and smoothies. In 2006, I had a total knee replacement and have had three consecutive revisions on the same knee in 2007, 2009 and the last in February 2009. During this time (not being as active as I usually am), I’ve gained back the 50 pounds and I can really feel it on my knee. I’m also an avid horseback rider and my doctor released me to ride again, however, two weeks ago, I decided to ride a different horse, fell off and hurt my knee. I’m trying desperately to strengthen this knee before going back to the doctor to avoid surgery and just recently purchased a recumbent bike and a Total Gym XLS. It would be great to have the Vita-Mix in addition so I can lose the additional 50 pounds I have gained. Now my two favorite recipes are “PINA COLADA SHAKE” with vanilla protein and the “SUNSET SHAKE” which I had in the mornings for breakfast. It consisted of vanilla protein, 1/2 cup pineapple coconut juice, 2 tbs orange juice concentrate, 1/2 cup cranberry juice and ice.

  354. This is a raw soup recipe I obtained from Timothy Brantley’s website (Brantleycure.com). It truly is absolutely delicious! It is easy to make; a nutrient rich delight.

    Winter Curried Cauliflower Soup
    Ingredients
ā€¢ 1 avocado with peel and pit removed
ā€¢ 2 organic scallions, chopped fine
    ā€¢ 1 1ā„2 c purified water
    ā€¢ 1 c organic lemon juice
ā€¢ 4 TBSP tahini ( I have substituted homemade Vitamix raw peanut butter when I was out of tahini and it worked great)
    ā€¢ 2 TBSP curry powder
ā€¢ 1ā„2 tsp both garlic powder and tumeric powder
ā€¢ 2 TBSP nama shoyu (unpasturized soy sauce)
    ā€¢ 2 TBSP miso
ā€¢ 1 medium cauliflower, finely chopped or grated
    Instructions
In a bowl, place the chopped or grated cauliflower. Combine all the other ingredients in the blender or food processor and blend until it is a rich puree. Pour the puree over the cauliflower, stir well, and serve in bowls. You can round out this simple meal with a large vegetable salad.
NOTE: I have also blended all of the ingredients including the cauliflower until steam comes out of the top vents for a rich, creamy cold winter night soup.

  355. My favorite is a spin on a Spice Bunny shake. It has tons of green vegetables, a frozen banana, a cup of almond milk, cinnamon, a good amount of carrots and ginger.

  356. I love tofu smoothies and soy caramel frappes. i usually make up my own recipe on the spot, so have non to give you. i really want this blender because im in college and cant afford Starbucks. i love every cold treat imaginable. Your Vista-Mix Super 5200 blender would help me ALOT. i could make all sorts of treats and get my day going with a Frappe, my favorite cold treat. i would like a chance all so to use your Vista-Mix Super 5200 blender to be able to eat healthy on such a small budget!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this Blender!!!!

    Love a big fan,
    Bridget Searcy

  357. Wow! This is a great give away, the Vita Mix Blender, I WOULD LOVE TO WIN A VITA MIX BLENDER. I’ve been looking to purchase one but I can’t seem to fit it in my budget at the moment. We have 2 kids in college and one in high school and they all love healthy organic food. I have a food processor and juicer. My juicer is not good because we don’t get all the nutrients that the Vita Mix will give us. The juicer is messier and does not give you the beneficial fiber and most of the nutrients we need. My families favorite recipes are hummus, salsa and smoothies. The problems is that we can’t make good healthy smoothies at home:( A Vita Mix Blender would bring Great Healthy Cooking to my family and friends. We need to educate people with healthy cooking and this is a great start;)

    Hummus
    4-5 C. Organic Garbanzo
    3 Med. size Garlic Cloves
    1/2 C. Lemon Juice
    1/3 C. Tahini
    1/2 C. Broth
    1/2 C. Olive Oil
    Salt
    Instructions
Blend garlic, lemon juice, tahini and 1/2 of olive oil until its smooth and creamy. Then add garbanzos, reaming olive oil, salt and broth.

Thank you for giving us this great opportunity!

  358. Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your site?
My website is in the very same area of interest as yours and my
visitors would truly benefit from some of the information you present
here. Please let me know if this alright with you.

    Many thanks!
