I just noticed that my ClustrMap is up and running! I can’t wait to see it update with all the red dots It’s so exciting!!
Tonight I was lucky enough to be able to go to a concert downtown with my good friend and former roommate. We had an absolute blast at the House of Blues, where we saw Hanson play. Now, I know the first thing that may come to your mind is “MMMBop,” but have you heard some of their more recent work? They are amazingly talented and I am not ashamed to say that their concerts are the best of the best. This is the second one I’ve been to with my friend, and we absolutely loved it!
As a result of my afternoon and evening in the city, I have chosen to dedicate today’s post to a review!
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to receive a box of samples from Tiffany at Chobani. Some of you have probably tried this brand of Greek yogurt before. But for those who aren’t as familiar, I hope this review will be helpful. And for those who are familiar – feel free to chime in with your opinion and agree or disagree with me!
Chobani Greek Yogurt
From the Chobani website: “Chobani Greek Yogurt is a richer, more indulgent way to get your protein. Chobani is all-natural made with hormone-free milk and low sugar.”
Chobani 0% Plain
Ingredients:
CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.
Review:
I am a big fan of the Plain variety. It’s got just the right balance of tartness and creaminess, so it isn’t overwhelmingly bitter and I am able to eat a container without putting in massive amounts of granola, syrup, etc. You have to stir the yogurt to get rid of some of the liquid, but that’s not really a big deal. Overall, the plain flavor was my absolute favorite because it’s very versatile and packs an insane amount of protein with only a small amount of sugar.

Chobani 0% Vanilla
Ingredients:
CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK, SUGAR, NATURAL VANILLA FLAVOR. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.
Review:
As far as sweetened Greek yogurts go, this vanilla flavor has got it goin’ on! The sweetness isn’t overpowering and I still feel like I’m eating something light and nutritious. The sugar content is a bit higher, but it’s no different than regular fruit-flavored yogurts. I also should mention that I love the fact that all of these yogurts have five live active cultures. Coming from someone with stomach issues, a little probiotic never hurts!

Chobani 0% Peach
Ingredients:
CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK, SUGAR, PEACHES. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.
Review:
If I’m being honest – and I am! – this was my least favorite out of all the sample flavors I received. The first bite was slightly bitter and off in some way, and I didn’t think the peach added much to the overall flavor, especially considering that it contributed so much extra sugar. As I continued eating, I did notice the flavor start to get better, so perhaps I just didn’t stir it well enough initially. The biggest difference between the plain variety and the fruit flavors in terms of nutrition is the extra sugar and a smaller amount of protein. But the cool thing about the fruit flavors is that there is REAL fruit at the bottom, so if you stir it up really well, you are able to get a small taste with every bite.

Chobani 0% Strawberry
Ingredients:
CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK, STRAWBERRIES, SUGAR. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.
Review:
The strawberry flavor, on the other hand, was FANTASTIC. I suppose it may depend on what fruits you prefer to eat – I happen to like strawberries and blueberries better than peaches, particularly when it comes to yogurt. I thought that this flavor was incredibly creamy and the strawberry chunks were huge and really sweetened the deal. I think the key to the fruit flavors is to make sure to stir and spread the fruit syrup and chunks around so that you don’t have a bitter/sweet separation.

Chobani 0% Blueberry
Ingredients:
CULTURED PASTEURIZED NONFAT MILK, SUGAR, BLUEBERRIES. CONTAINS FIVE LIVE ACTIVE CULTURES INCLUDING S. THERMAPHILUS, BULGARICUS, L. ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS, AND L. CASEI.
Review:
The blueberry was by far the best fruit flavor, in my opinion. Everything came together perfectly to create a creamy, sweet container of Greek goodness. Just look at that blueberry chunk in the picture above, and I’m sure you see what I mean π Through my review of all of the Chobani yogurts, the one area that seems to stay constant is the fact that it is the creamiest Greek yogurt I have had to date. It may require more stirring initially, but the overall taste difference is so worth it!

If you are uneasy about making the switch to Greek yogurt because you find the plain versions to be too bitter no matter how much honey, maple syrup, etc. you add to the mix, I highly suggest you check out Chobani and its vanilla and fruit-flavored versions. It will help make the transition into Greek yogurt easier, and you’ll still be getting a lot of the protein and probiotic benefits!
Thanks again to Tiffany for the great samples!
I’m off to bed because standing up and dancing for 5 hours straight made me a tad sleepy π I will catch up on all of your lovely blogs tomorrow!
Happy Election Day! ROCK THE VOTE!
Mmm… I still haven’t tried Chobani. But it looks really good! I do want to try it eventually π
<3 the chobani My local publix does not carry it so I have to drive to whole foods to get it now. I am going to ask my publix to start carrying it though because it has become a weekly need not a want! My favorite flavor is the peach but I really love the blueberry too! I have not tried the plain but was not a big fan of the vanilla. thats my mini review π
I’m glad you had fun at Hanson! I heard them on the radio recently and they’re soooo grown up- totally freaked me out!
I love House of Blues! Sounds like you had fun! Thanks for the reviews. I just started eating Oikos, and now have been wondering about this brand. I will have to try it!
Tiffany clearly hates me. π Anyway, I totally agree that Chobani is the most gentle of the Greek Yogurts.
Did your cluster map take awhile to work? I took mine off because I thought it was “broken.”
Haha, glad you enjoyed the concert!! π
Great reviews, girl!!
I love Chobani! And it’s so much less expensive than other Greek yogurts. That’s probably why I love it.
Also, you’ve probably already read this on other sites, but I’m a regular reader of your blog (I’m the one who went to NU too!), so I wanted to personally let you know that I started a blog of my own. It’s all about baking with whole foods – no refined sugars or flours, etc. I’ll be posting recipes, and it should be fun. Hope you stop by!

Hey girl! Great review of Chobani! I love Chobani yogurt and the price is much lower than other Greek yogurts I’ve seen. I’ve never seen the peach flava at my grocery, which is A-OK with me (I’m not sure I would dig the peach chunks.) The honey Chobani is good as well … it has a subtle hint of honey flavor, giving it just the right amount of sweet! π
i have to tell you again how much i LOVE the new page layout!! it looks so good π
hahah my husband’s claim to fame was that he hung out with hanson once. i haven’t heard any of their recent stuff, but i used to LOVE me some mmbop back in the day!
thanks for the chobani reviews! it’s my favorite greek yogurt but sadly they don’t sell it here in v-town π
strawberry and plain were definitely my favorite flavors! delicious mixed with granola or flax flakes.
hope you have a wonderful day!
I have been looking for Chobani, I’m in love with the blueberry Oikos. I saw that there is a place to buy Chobani in bulk off the internet, but I’m scared to buy a 12 pack without trying it first. Hopefully Oikos comes out with a strawberry flavor!
Wow, love the review of all the different chobani yogurts! i’m so jealous you got to try all the flavors!! but great review…i’m with you about the whole fruit added kind of thing to yogurts…but you saying that the blueberry and strawberry rocked…well, you always have an influence on me! must find! …which means i have to make a very daring treck to WF…goodness gracious! (i love WF but it’s such a butt getting there and around it!)
nice review! I need to try and find chobani again – i found it at one grocery store, but it isnt at my local one. Hanson – ha! i was definitely thinking mmmBop at first, but I havent heard any of their latest stuff, so I will have to check it out! Have a great day!
Thanks for the reviews of Chobani. I still have yet to try it, but hopefully I will find it around here sometime soon!!
Have a great election day!
I really want to try those. I’ve been eating Fage, but it’s time to switch it up. I love the protein in it…
Great review, for pre flavored yogurts, I really liked the chobani. I haven’t tried the plain one yet, I am saving it for last as I am sure it will be my fav!
Hanson was the very first concert I ever went to in 8th grade and I was obsessed! I really haven’t heard any of their recent stuff, btu maybe I will give it a try on Itunes π
haha Hanson! SO fun! glad you had a good time tonight–hopefully there will be some celebrations tonight as well ; )
Hanson! I was one of those mega-fans when I was 13 and MMMBop came out….I went to my first concert on my 20th birthday! I’ve seen them 3 times. People laugh, but I tell them if you love live music and a fun show they are the best!
very good and helpful reviews, jenn! even for someone who will probably never have access to chobani π concert sounds like lots of fun!!
Thanks for the detailed review! I saw a combo pack the other day at BJs and I was too afraid to try it because I’d only heard about certain flavors! Now I know π
Great review!! I’ve tried a couple of the flavors and liked them- and it’s SO much cheaper than Fage.
I didn’t realize that Hanson was still together! What’s up with all of these bands making comebacks (hello, NKOTB)? Glad you had fun- I’ll have to check out some of their newer stuff!
I used to love Hanson!!
Nice review on Chobani…we actually just got one kind of Greek Yogurt in the market here (recently introduced). I tried one that was stirred with honey but didn’t like the taste too much
I am so with you on Hanson! How come they’re so badass?!
I am dying for a shipment of Chobani. You don’t even know.
I’ve tried tons of yogurt and hands down, it’s my absolute favorite. I like peach best π
Just curious…I am interested in trying Chobani, how did you get the free samples?
I have yet to try Chobani-i’m glad you got to test ’em all out- i think i’d be a vanilla or plain girl!
I’ve heard some of the new Hanson stuff and it IS good! No shame there at all. Although I still think Mmmbop is some of their finest work π
Love the yogurt reviews. Really wish I could try them … sigh. haha.
Great reviews! I’m kinda happy to hear that Hanson is still performing! Did they play Mmbop?
I can’t find Chobani where I live and am feeling very left out. π I have looked and looked and even my whole foods doesn’t have any! Booo
I think I am the only food blogger on Earth that hasn’t tired Chobani!! I’ve been living abroad since they became popular and I am dying to try them! Thanks for the review, though…I cant’ wait to get my hands on some when I am home for the holidays.
To all ~ Thank you π I was glad to see that the review was helpful to some, and I was also very happy that others share the Hanson love!! Seriously, check ’em out on iTunes if you haven’t heard their music in a while – you won’t be disappointed!!
Andee ~ I was contacted by a representative of Chobani who had seen my blog and was interested in having me do a review!
Halie ~ YOU BETTER BELIEVE THEY DID!! It was amazing!
yum! i just tried the blueberry this weekend and it was so delicious…i can’t wait to stock up on some more!
I simply LOVE Chobani Greek Yogurt…its about time I found something I can enjoy without guilt! There is just one MAJOR set back…my favorite fruit is pomegranate, and of course that was the first flavored I tried. I was so disappointed. I sat down to enjoy my wonderful yogurt and I found myself pulling out seeds! OMG! What a let down! Taste was awesome but I looked so crazy eating yogurt and spitting out the seeds. Funny..yes..but just gross and sticky! I would really love this to be fixed! Let me know!
P.S. Peach is my favorite handsdown!! Keep up the good work!! Xoxoxox
Genny.
