MY FRIENDS More on that in just a bit. First, I’d like to present last week’s Blogger Secret Ingredient as promised. I’m a little behind!
Double Duty Potato Soup
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Imagine Red Bliss Potato Soup
- 1 medium sweet potato
- 1/8 cup reduced fat Mexican cheese
- 1 tbsp. 0% Greek yogurt
Here’s what the soup looks like, for your reference!
Directions:
On the stove, heat up Imagine Red Bliss Potato Soup on medium high until it begins to boil. At the same time, cook one medium sweet potato in the microwave until soft (roughly 3-4 minutes). Cut the sweet potato into many tiny slices and add them to the pot of red potato soup. Stir the “double duty” potatoes together until the desired balance between a chunky and creamy texture is achieved. Pour into a bowl and top with Mexican cheese and Greek yogurt to create the illusion of a baked potato in soup form. Serve and enjoy!

Thanks again to Melissa of Trying to Heal for hosting another successful BSI contest! I’m looking forward to submitting an entry for this week’s ingredient – pumpkin!! Yay Lindsay π Great choice!
Making Spirits Bright
It may not be Christmas yet, but there are many ways that friends around the blogosphere have been making my spirits bright these past couple of days. First of all, thank you all for your encouraging comments about the 5k and my race time! It means so much to me that you care and it further enforces how truly wonderful this community is.
My spirit was also made brighter thanks to my good friend VeggieGirl, who was kind enough to send me some INCREDIBLE gluten- and soy-free vegan goodies in the mail!
These goodies are from the Enjoy Life brand, and include chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chips and two types of granola! Of course I had to try something as soon as I opened the box I went straight for the cookies!
The verdict? SO GOOD! These are very soft and chewy and remind me a lot of the Kashi TLC Cookies. But allergen-friendly π Heat ’em up in the microwave and serve with a small glass of almond milk and you’ve got yourself a perfect nightcap.
THANK YOU, VeggieGirl!! I am so excited to try the other products!
And a THIRD way that I’ve gotten by with a little help from my friends this week comes courtesy of Ashley from Sweet & Natural and Heather from Heather Bakes, who have both graciously presented me with the Superior Scribbler blogging award!
Both of these ladies have extremely high-quality blogs. Ashley is relatively new to the blogging world and has been making fantastic contributions through some awesome baked goods. Plus, she graduated from the very school I am attending now! Check out her Espresso Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Heather is another inspiring blogger who is currently attending culinary school! I love reading her posts because they are full of quick wit and humor. Plus, her dog Chloe always makes me smile π She is running a marathon on December 14 and you can find out more about it by clicking here!
Here are the rules:
1. Post the award on your blog
2. Link to me for giving it to you
3. Link the originating post here
4. Pass it on to five deserving people
5. Post these rules for your recipients.
These awards go out so fast and I’m never sure who has received one and who hasn’t!! But here are four bloggers who I would like to pass the award on to:
- Sarah from Our Kitchen Adventures
- Brittany from Eating Bird Food
- Gina from Fitnessista
- Rose from On a Lobster Placemat
I checked their blogs and they haven’t posted about the award yet – but I apologize if I’m double tagging!! Either way, my fifth and final award goes to everyone in the blogosphere π ALL OF YOU are incredible writers!! Hence why I turn to your posts every day – because they are ALL enjoyable reads!!
Before I go, I wanted to make sure to tell you that Quantum of Solace ended up being a very good movie! We saw it on Saturday night and while I will say that you have to make sure to pay attention the entire time (aka it’s easy to miss an important plot detail), the special effects were great and I’m really digging Daniel Craig as the new Bond – it seems a bit less shallow than the other movies. A little less objectification of women is a good thing.
Last but not least, head over to Grounded Fitness for a great giveaway!!
Yummy soup! Great entry
Those goodies from VeggieGirl sound AMAZING! Go VeggieGirl!
This was a great post! All about friendship in the blogging community π
I saw Quantum of Solace too and I loved it! Daniel Craig is such a good Bond! Compared to Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton (sorry fans, but they were horrible!), Daniel Craig is amazing! Sean Connery and Roger Moore are really good, classic Bonds, but I really really like Daniel Craig!
LOOOOOVE your BSI soup submission!!
Aww yay!! I’m THRILLED to read that you liked the cookies!! I can’t WAIT to find out how you like the other products – enjoy them immensely, girl!! I know I do π
CONGRATS ON THE AWARD!!

I just started eating the Enjoy Life cookies recently and I am addicted. The chocolate chip are good, but my favorites are the gingerbread and the snickerdoodle flavors.
