Hello From Hiatus

Hi. Remember me?

Well. I certainly did not expect to take a nearly four-month hiatus from blogging, and yet here we are, approaching June without so much as a peep since early February. All I have to say for myself is that life has been a nonstop adventure… and we’ve been loving every second of it.

The last few weeks of pregnancy were a blur of baby showers (so very fortunate to have such great friends and family), baby-related purchases and finishing up a mountain of pre-maternity leave work projects. I finished those just in time for my last day, thank goodness, and was fully expecting to have a week or more of waiting for Spidey to make his arrival.

Two days after my last day of work, Spidey decided he’d been in cramped quarters long enough. Sort of. He wanted out – as evidenced by my dramatic water breaking just as I was about to go to sleep on Sunday, March 15 – but he wasn’t exactly in a rush once he had made that decision. Nearly 48 hours of labor later, our little leprechaun finally debuted at 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. He’s been keeping us guessing ever since.

I can’t say for certain what the future holds in terms of posting, but I do know that I miss blogging and look forward to sharing my random musings with you as often as I can. For now, I wanted to let you know that I am, in fact, still here, and you haven’t heard the last of me. There’s just a small bundle of love that takes up the majority of my hours now with cuddles, coos and kisses. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
