After a few weeks of experimentation and reflection, I’ve decided it’s time.

Through 174 posts, I have grown to know and love the blogging community. I have made new acquaintances, developed what I think could be lifelong friendships, and look forward to the time each day where I can sit in front of the computer and write about my thoughts, feelings and of course, FOOD.

So as the summer draws to a close (as much as I try to stop it), I’ve realized that with senior year approaching, I want to make sure I’m keeping up my blogging and continuing to be a part of the community. But I had to ask myself how I could possibly keep things interesting, because as I’ve said before, I really am a creature of habit, and it only gets more pronounced when I’m at school.

As a result, I’ve decided to shake things up with the blog and step away from the daily food journal. This change will not only will it make it easier for me to post on a regular basis, but also will prevent you, dear reader, from getting drowned in a sea of monotonous posts that feature the same pictures taken from different angles. Because to be quite honest, I usually eat the same things every day!

To challenge myself, I am making the effort to cook at least one new breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert per week. These will be featured on different days and will showcase my ability to be lazy but still cook something edible πŸ˜‰ There will also be days devoted to grocery trips, food and restaurant reviews, interesting links, My Portion and Bender’s Blenders. Without further ado, I give you the new eating bender!

Along with these changes, I will be including a “5 New Things I Learned Today” feature that will focus on new facts and information I have gathered from that particular day, as a way to stay connected and keep the interactive journal aspect of this blog alive.

I really hope that this will be the start of something even more exciting, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the new schedule will take me. THANK YOU to all who have been so supportive and have read my blog on a regular basis. Your comments are always so appreciated and put a smile on my face every day. I will work to continue to bring new and interesting information your way.

  1. This is great, Jen! I totally respect your decision to ixnay the meal posting… I wouldn’t like doing that, although I ADORE reading/seeing them on other’s blogs! I just don’t think I, personally, would enjoy it!

  2. Jenn, thanks for sharing this plan with us. You have really thought everything out – I love it! I really like the titles you came up with and the subjects you will be covering. I think it’s a great idea for the blog + your writing. This will give you time to really focus on each post (sometimes I feel like I can’t do that because I jut need to post, you know?) I look forward to the new Eating Bender and totally respect your decision for making the change. I know I’ll definitely keep reading!

    Gosh, if I posted every meal I don’t think anyone would read my blog! I am also a creature of habit and I have been eating SO BORING lately! I am making an effort today to cook TWO new meals.

    I am excited to see what’s in the future for Eating Bender!
