Do You Sniff The Pages?

I have been sharing the below post through every social media platform available to me today. It’s a very sweet read, and those of you who love the way books can take you to imaginary worlds and back, all while causing you to think about life in new ways, will get a kick out of it.

A Girl You Should Date

By the way, I am completely guilty of sniffing the pages. They need to find a way to bottle that.

Help me feel a little less crazy. Do you smell the pages, too?

And on that note, I’m off to do some reading and writing of my own. Happy Monday!

Abrazos,

  1. Aw love this! Can you imagine that our kids (or hopefully not til grandkids) may not know what a book is? schools and colleges are turning to electronic textbooks, the world of the future will all be in a kindle/ipad. as cool as it is, and as badly as i want a kindle for Christmas, it’s so sad!! Smelling a Kindle is not the same! 😉

    • I honestly can’t imagine! I’m with you – I love technology but it’s not the same (and definitely not as fragrant, haha)! I could go on many tangents – the biggest one being related to writing. I don’t know about you but the act of writing, highlighting, note taking, etc. with my hand makes me remember/learn so much better than just having it all on a screen. I’m sure that won’t disappear forever, but it is definitely a sad thought!

  2. this is SO awesome!

AND… another reason we are kindred spirits, Jenn – I *always* smell the pages of books, new and old, I love how they smell!

…and when I met Jason, I was startled then delighted that he does the same thing. it is not rare for one of us to approach the other with an open book, fanning the pages to smell…

    😀

  3. True story: Smelling the pages of books made/makes me dizzy. It used to turn my stomach in school and can/could actually make me ill. I used to get sick walking into a library!

I don’t know if this is because I’ve had allergies or something else. I’ve always been very sensitive to scents. My husband and son could not wear aftershave … I’ve had my son wash his off when he used to overdose when dating.

I have to admit it was much worse when I was younger. But, I love my kindle! I am such a reader and would feel such a loss without being able to read hours a day.
