The time has arrived. Cue the dramatic music here!
Thank you to everyone who entered the Vita-Mix Super 5200 Giveaway – I was overwhelmed by the turnout and the vast collection of blender recipes that have now been gathered there. Check it out!
Just in case you aren’t aware, I used a random integer generator courtesy of random.org to determine the winner. It would have been too hard to pick from 441 different entries – not to mention the extra points people received from referring and linking back!
Drumroll please…
And the winner of the Bender Blender – Vita-Mix Super 5200 – is…

There’s my giveaway love. Now I’d like to share some foodie love, if you don’t mind!
Today was one of those days that made me for so many reasons. I needed one of those! First of all, I realized how much more I enjoy giving over receiving. Putting together Christmas packages and wrapping gifts is so much more fun than unwrapping my own! Secondly, I got my grades back and was very pleased! Quite the quick turnaround – which I loved! And finally, I received word that I’ve made it to the second round interviews of the job that I hope will become mine when I graduate. Needless to say, I had a visit from the lucky bug today, and I am grateful.
I woke up early this morning for some unknown reason. While I was checking email and blogs, I had a mug of Pumpkin Spice Coffee Cocoa. It was my first attempt at trying pumpkin-y coffee, and I enjoyed it! The smell was fantastic, and I think it went well with the chocolate, believe it or not. Eventually, I whipped out a breakfast similar to yesterday – a bowl of plain Chobani topped with pomegranate, blueberries, raspberries AND blackberries this time, too – what can I say, I like to live dangerously!
After finishing that bowl, I was still a little hungry, so I had a serving of Kashi Go Lean with unsweetened original almond milk and more pomegranate seeds – can’t get enough of ’em!
After breakfast, I set to work on my gift wrapping. I worked through the morning and have just a bit more to go tomorrow – what has gotten into me?! Eventually, all that cutting and taping got me hungry π so I took a break to make myself a nice lunch.
I started with a Ham & Cheese sandwich – a combo I haven’t had in quite a while. I forgot how delicious it can be! I used two slices of rye bread, topping one with about 1 oz. of Boar’s Head ham (the best!) and the other with two slices of muenster cheese. I popped both in the toaster until the cheese was gooey and the bread was browned. It was amazing!
On the side, I made myself a fruit cup using the same berries from breakfast.
And I couldn’t help but have another mug of Coffee Cocoa. This time it was Cinnamon Mocha flavored. It’s actually quite chilly here so a hot drink was nice!
And I finished lunch with a two-bite macaroon from Whole Foods. These are absolutely delicious and addicting! My mom loves ’em, but she better watch out!
The rest of the afternoon was spent reading The Host, walking around my neighborhood and yes, wrapping more presents! I made myself a Virgin Bloody Mary mid-afternoon – I just love the spiciness! I used a spiced tomato mix, Worcestershire and hot sauce, and topped it all with some celery salt. Nothin’ like a kick in the stomach to keep you energized for the rest of the day!
Then I went to the UPS store to send off my Secret Santa gift (yay!) and ran around to a couple more stores to pick up some extra gift ideas I had come up with while wrapping. I got a call from Mama Bender and we decided to order out for dinner, so I stopped by Pei Wei to pick up a glorious meal.
So I absolutely love ordering off of the kid’s menu at Pei Wei π It’s the perfect portion size for one! Tonight I went for the teriyaki chicken with brown rice. It comes with about 5 pieces of delicious chicken and a generous serving of rice. The other “schtuff” you see are the mushrooms and green onions that my brother didn’t want in his dish – I happily volunteered to take them off his hands!
And of course, what take out meal would be complete without a fortune cookie?
Mine said something along the lines of getting “new friends” and “advancement” in my near future – I hope that it’s talking about that job opportunity, haha!
After dinner, my brother and I headed to the gym. I did a cardio + ab workout on the elliptical and stair machine and those funky twisty ab machines – gotta love ’em. When I got back, I had the best dessert ever – Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Drops!
Hershey’s Kisses have nothing on these! They are so rich and melt-in-your-mouth good! I may have had 1 or 2 or 5 more – hey, the serving size is 11, I was just following the rules!
I am currently watching The Tonight Show and just saw Kate Winslet – I love her! She seems like such a lovely person. Are there any actors or actresses that you’d love to meet?
I’ve got to admit, I’m a little biased toward Robert Pattinson right now π I’m sure some of you will agree with me!
Have a T-riffic Tuesday!
2) I would like to win the blender because my favorite 1950s blender was recently turned into a pot for a plant. The blades were dulling, and my boyfriend decided to fill the entire thing with soil. Now I donβt have a blender at all
