Happy Tuesday to all!
I realized that all of my meals today incorporated a boxed food of some sort, hence the title of this post. I’m pleased to announce that there was no catered lunch, and I also found out that I will be leaving the office a little early tomorrow – and it’s not even going to rain?!?! No way!
BREAKFAST
Breakfast was peachy keen this morning – literally and figuratively. I bought some perfectly ripe peaches at the grocery store last weekend, and pulled one of them out of the crisper today. Juicy!!!
After savoring every sweet bite, I poured myself a bowl of “boxed” cereal – 3/4 cup Trader Joe’s High Fiber with 1/2 cup Nature’s Path Puffs, enjoyed with 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
Coffee Cocoa made this a complete – allbeit unusual by my standards – way to start the day.
MORNING SNACK
Well darned if I didn’t get the munchies only 2 hours after eating that silly cereal. I had a banana at about 9:30 this morning to tide me over.
LUNCH
But of course, it didn’t tide me over for long, so I ate an early lunch at 11:15! It was a “boxed” lunch of course 😉 I started out small with my David’s pumpkin seeds to see if that would make me full so I could save the rest of my lunch for later on in the day.
Didn’t happen. So I pulled out my sandwich!
Two slices of Arnold Flax & Fiber bread with sliced turkey, spinach, and honey mustard.
And my tummy finally said “okay” 🙂
AFTERNOON SNACK
Another “boxed” treat that I found at the store – dried pineapple!
This stuff is as addicting as candy (thanks, sugar!) so I had a whole lot more than one serving.
I also tried out another Luna Mini bar. Today’s flavor was Nutz Over Chocolate.
Thing about these bars is, they are too. darn. small. Here, let me show you:
Not even half the size of my pen? Hm…sorry Luna, my heart belongs to Clif (swoon). I didn’t finish the bar – I just wasn’t feelin’ it. Sorry for the negative press, but I gotta be honest!
DINNER
To wrap up the “boxed” food theme, I had some Annie’s Whole Wheat Shells & White Cheddar for dinner.
The shells were topped with shrimp marinated in taco seasoning, as well as a little reduced fat Mexican cheese. It was delicious, just as Annie’s Mac always is – a cheesy, carby delight!
After dinner, Bobby and I played some more tennis. I’m slowly getting better, but it’s definitely a process. Good thing I have a good teacher!
Hope everyone had a wonderful day 🙂
I’m envious of your peach-slicing skills, haha – mine are terrible! :0)
Mmm…dried pineapple!
I can understand not liking the mini size Luna Bars. I always eat the standard sized ones, which are much bigger and are about 180 calories. I’ve never tried the Clif zbars…I’ll have to check them out.
Cute post 🙂 I love dried pineapple, it is pretty much the devil 🙂 A store near my house sells low sugar dried pineapple (which means I can eat twice as much- right?)
I haven’t commented before, but I just wanted to let you know that your posts crack me up and make my day. Thanks for the humor that I’m guessing comes naturally to you 🙂
The Luna bars are too small! Ack!!
My grandparents bought that same dried fruit last summer. I definitely had a few to many, if you know what I mean! (Okay, actually, there’s no “if you know what I mean” to it.. I just had too many.)
VeggieGirl ~ Haha, thank you – I’m definitely not the best slicer in the world, but for whatever reason, peaches I can handle 🙂
blueberryhil ~ Yeah, perhaps I’ll have to give the big ones a try. More food = better.
Erica ~ OF COURSE you can eat twice as much!!!!
Kristie M. ~ Wow, thank you so much! You made my day 🙂
ashley ~ Haha, your comment made me laugh out loud 🙂
[…] Remember how the Luna mini bar was less than half the size of my pen? Well, in order to be fair, I had to show you the Clif Chocolate Brownie ZBar to compare: […]
