Wow. Thank you all so much for the kind comments on my anniversary post. I am so excited for the years to come on this blog!
Speaking of things to be excited about, I came across a video while reading a former co-worker’s blog today and couldn’t resist sharing it with you.
In my life thus far, I have been fortunate enough to travel abroad a few times (I wish my blog would have been around to document it, but the closest I’ve come can be found here) and experience the rich culinary distinctions that countries around the world have to offer. I consider myself lucky, but am also looking forward to visiting many more destinations in the future.
One couple, Ryan and Laura of Round We Go, did just that. They spent an entire year moving around the globe and documented every step of the way. Recently, they compiled photos into a beautiful video, which you can view below:
Immediately after watching, my mind turned to the amazing food they must have eaten!
Their story, combined with people I know like Danielle, gives me the itch to explore the world. There is so much going on beyond the small one-bedroom apartment I call my office most days of the week.
My sister-in-law gave me a book called Food Journeys of a Lifetime for Christmas. It is filled with amazing dining destinations and cuisine histories. The only question is, where to go first?!
If you could travel anywhere in the world this year, where would it be and why?
It’s hard to name just one, but I think if I could pick it would be Italy. The food. The sightseeing. The history. It would truly be an amazing trip!
Abrazos,
Cool video! And definitely some gorgeous pictures and places. I would love to go to Italy as well. First, I’d like to explore more of US. I’d like to take Josh to San Francisco and Hawaii (hes never been). I want to go to Seattle, Portland, somewhere in New Mexico, Arizona (another spot Josh hasn’t visited), Texas and back to New England (for lobster). ๐
I have wander lust so bad right now I just want to pick up and go around the world for a year. Sigh. Maybe someday.
I would take a 2 week Asia trip though.
Agreed – I want to travel so many different places! It will all come in time. ๐
Based on food? I’d love to go to Greece or India since i love their cuisine. But based just on destination I’d love to go to Asia.
omg Costa Rica. Can you imagine the hummingbirds there?! Oh wait…was i supposed to focus on food? Hehe…i’m sure they have good food too!
the carribean!!!! i live in michigan so i’m absolutely craving sunshine, beaches, and umbrella drinks!
Ryan and Laura’s Round We Go is very awe inspiring and impressive; very touching.
I’ve been ‘saving’ this video to watch when I had time (it’s only 7 minutes but somehow I couldn’t fit it into my day.. pathetic, huh?) so I finally watched it just now…
Spectacular!!! This video gave me chills. Thanks for sharing, Jenn!
