Dotting T’s and Crossing I’s {Or Something Like That}

There are 19 days to go until the wedding and after this weekend, we are finally feeling – at least as much as is possible – that our to-do list is under control.

Bobby and I traveled to Arizona for another productive weekend that included:

  • Meeting with our priest
  • Putting together gift bags and favors for the guests
  • Working on more wedding menus
  • Designing and writing our wedding program
  • Meeting with our music director – it’s going to be AMAZING!!
  • Trying on – and loving – my wedding dress one more time before the big day

Through it all, we’ve followed a few very powerful mantras.

“No coffee, no workee.” Simple, yet effective.

It’s also important to remember that, whenever possible, you should eat your colors.

Especially when they are in limited supply – and soon to be out of season for six+ months.

Another must-believe mantra: good things come in small packages.

Whole Foods tarts, for instance. We are serving these at our Open House on October 15. From left to right, we have key lime (my favorite), banana cream, raspberry-lemon and chocolate.

Good things also come in small pictures. 🙂

But perhaps most importantly, when there are less than three weeks to go until the big day, you best not dilly-dally with indecisiveness. Unless, of course, you are perusing the menu at Dilly’s Deli.

Then, by all means, you should sit down and stay a while. I suggest ordering the Red Bird sandwich off of the long and detailed menu. It comes with turkey, spinach, red onion, green peppers, tomato and a swoon-worthy roasted red pepper pesto.

If you are still feeling indecisive, then, by all means, order a salad on the side. I chose to Go Greek.

My family and I were big fans of Dilly’s Deli. Particularly their entertaining logo.

Although my name will soon be changing, I’ll always be a little bit quacky.

That’s why I also adhere to the philosophy that everyone is – and should be – a little bit crazy.

With less than three weeks until my wedding, anything less than crazy would be boring, right? 😉

How are you thinking, acting, being, etc. a little “crazy” this week?

Don’t be shy! I can’t wait to hear your answers.

Abrazos,

  1. AWww, I can’t believe how close it is!!! You are holding up beautifully girl. Hang in there, the next 2 weeks are going to get crazy, but in a completely good way! 😉

  2. Eee! The big day is so close–and I couldn’t be happier for you and Bobby:)
I guess I’m being quacky this week by visiting a pub with my gastronomy class. We’ll be partaking in a beer tasting…and I don’t even like beer. It’s all for the experience!

  3. ah!!!!!!! (as I always say ;)). How exciting. Glad things are coming together nicely. And I love WFs key lime tarts- I got them for Josh for his bday. Great sandwich, even better salad. You definitely are more than entitled to acting a bit nutty right now. I’m actually feeling super normal this week. Josh’ s parents are in town and its always so nice to just relax with them

  4. Can’t believe how close it is until your big day Jenn! I definitely agree with you that life is A LOT more interesting when it’s crazy and a little all over the place. For me, life is crazy since I’ve been filling my calendar with all these Boston based events and putting myself out there and meeting people. It’s been quite an enjoyable ride though in light of occasionally feeling burnt out by it!

  5. I meant to ask you if you were planning to change your name. I know some people in business don’t because they feel like they have established themselves with their maiden name and don’t want to change because of that. I was wondering where you fell (not that there’s a right or wrong, I was just curious!)

  6. You always have a wonderful outlook on life–I love it! And I am liking the
looks of those tarts from Whole Foods..they’d be fun to make sometime!

  7. Rubber ducks?? I love it!

Lady, you are on top of things. So glad you were able to spend some time out in AZ getting those little details worked on – it will totally eliminate some of the stress once you’re out there for the big day.

  8. Hmmm…how have I been acting crazy? Not really sure actually. I’m in school mode. No time for crazy! HA!

You sound very on top of all this wedding stuff. And hey, even if you miss a little detail, it won’t matter in the end 🙂

  9. 19 days!!

I’m always a little bit crazy. My husband and i “talk” for our dog all the time. Like one of us will be the voice of the dog and we’ll have entire conversations.

  10. I am so jealous that your wedding is almost here and planned! Mine is next September and I feel totally overwhelmed by the planning! I’ve got place for the ceremony and reception and that’s about it! What to do now…
