French Toast the Bender Whey

Ingredients (serves 1):

Toast Batter:

  • 1 scoop whey vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup liquid egg whites
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Cinnamon to taste

~*~

Topping:

  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 1 tsp. maple syrup

~*~

Directions:

Combine toast batter ingredients in a small bowl, adding cinnamon to taste. Set aside.

Combine topping ingredients in a separate bowl. Microwave 30 seconds and continue whipping ingredients until the mashed banana takes on a whipped texture.

Drench two pieces of whole wheat toast in the batter.

Coat a small pan in cooking spray and place on burner at medium high heat. Add soaked piece of bread to the pan and dash with more cinnamon.

Flip toast when one side is slightly browned and egg appears thoroughly cooked. Toast the other side until it’s golden brown. It’s now ready to be served!

Top the French toast with banana-maple icing if desired.

The end result is pure decadence that combines fiber, carbohydrates and protein to provide a lasting fullness for a day of activity!

    I absolutely LOVE this recipe!
I’ve made it twice already, and I loved every bite of it both times.
As someone trying to incorporate more protein into my diet/put on muscle, I can’t even express to you how happy I was when I found a protein version of my favorite decadent breakfast :)
Thank you for the awesome recipe!
