Bender’s Blenders: Berry Classy

We’re keeping this smoothie classy – berry classy. It’s a delightfully refreshing nighttime (or anytime) treat that is best enjoyed by savoring every sip in a wine glass. Fresh flowers not included ;) So sorry!

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk
  • 1 tbsp. soy protein powder (I used Whole Nectar)
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/8 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/8 cup fresh raspberries
  • Foam topping (optional)

Directions:

Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a wine glass and top with cappuccino foam if desired. Drink while catching up on your favorite blogs ;) and looking extremely classy. Better yet – looking berry classy.

Review:

I wasn’t sure what I would think of the addition of the unsweetened chocolate almond milk with the fresh and frozen fruit. It tasted a little different than your average fruit smoothie – a little creamier and a little less sweet. Overall, it was an interesting new combination and I would make it again. But of course, I had to bring in another taster to verify that it was good enough for the blog.

I think it’s clear from the expression on his face that we have one happy camper. The unintentional smoothie mustache was just a bonus ;) Oh yeah, we have a new “Got Smoothie?” campaign in the works…stay tuned for that one – I can already tell it’s going to be in magazines everywhere!
