That’s the Wildcats’ battle cry! 🙂

We just returned home from an exciting day at Ryan Field. Northwestern beat the Rice University Owls 28-6! If we can hang on for two more games, we may squeak our way into a bowl game. Fingers crossed!

Following our victory, Bobby and I decided to visit an old favorite for lunch: Pine Yard! We arrived at the tail end of the lunch special, which comes with soup, egg rolls and any type of rice. I chose the wonton soup to start – perfect for a chilly day.

The egg rolls were filled with shrimp and veggies. I ate half of mine and gave the rest to Bobby. I think egg rolls are one of his favorite things about Pine Yard. 🙂

We each chose the Three Delicacies for our main meal, which comes with chicken, beef and shrimp, along with veggies such as broccoli, mushrooms, onions and red peppers. I chose the spicy version, and also decided to go with the fried rice.

The best part? Leftovers. We get to enjoy this meal again for lunch tomorrow!

We’re keeping the rest of the day low key around here. I’m very excited to be wearing my new Book Lover’s Lounge Pants, which Mama Bender sent to me in honor of my novel. I’m optimistic that they will be the cure for writer’s block. 😉

Thanks, Mama Bender!

Hope all of you are having a fantastic weekend so far! What are your plans?

Abrazos,

  1. Those pants are so adorable! They look really comfortable too, we’re apartment hunting in our new city this weekend. I’m already exhausted, comfy pants and wine are on the agenda for tonight!
