Blogiversary Winners!

The time has arrived, my friends πŸ™‚ The giveaway inbox is officially closed! And…we have winners!!

First things first – the random integer generator! This part of the contest was based on comments, trackbacks, and “no blog” emails. In total, there were 321 entries! I used Random.org to draw the winning number. Drumroll, please!

Here are your random numbers:

81

Timestamp: 2009-03-19 03:18:22 UTC

According to my calculations, that makes our first winner…

ALLISON FROM GREEN DOG WINE!!!!!!

Congratulations, girl! Watch your email πŸ™‚

Now came the tricky part – the Eating Bender Trivia! I received 43 entries for this part of the contest. If I have made some grave error and forgot someone, please let me know:

I think that’s everyone! You all did an amazing job and I was so flattered that you knew that much about me and my blog! In fact, you made me realize that there was more than one possible answer to 2 of the questions 😳 In order to compensate for my error, I decided that everyone who took the time to do the trivia should be eligible to win the second prize. Here are the answers just for kicks:

1. Who is the resident celebrity chef on the blog?

PAPA BENDER πŸ™‚ Love him!!

2. What is my most intense fear?

SPIDERS! Many of you share my phobia!

3. Where does the nickname β€œBender” come from?

My mom’s wacky nicknames! And, as many of you pointed out, I also figured it could symbolize a healthy eating “spree” πŸ™‚

4. What is one of my favorite eateries? Hint: I ate there many, many times in spring 2008.

This question ended up having two possible answers because I realized I ate at both places equally! The correct answers were Panera and Cosi. A few of you also brought up Wildfire and McCormick & Schmick’s and made me realize that I have a lot of favorite eateries πŸ˜‰ But Panera and Cosi were kind of a ridiculous habit of mine in spring 2008, so they reign supreme.

5. What was the first recipe I ever baked that was featured on The Lazy Chef page?

I made another error here because I realized that my page was originally just called “recipes” and later changed to “The Lazy Chef” – again, my bad. The answer I was looking for was ChocoNut Baked Oatmeal because it was the first recipe I ever posted back on April 23, 2008. Then I realized that the first recipe I actually put on the page itself was Banana Oat Bars. And, as if it couldn’t get any more embarassing, I also realized that Smokey Maple Chicken was the first recipe I ever posted under the title of “The Lazy Chef” so obviously, that works, too! And who could forget ‘Pump’ It Up Muffins?! GAAAAHHHHH – are we sensing a pattern? My head is dizzy!

If you haven’t figured it out by now, this is the first time I have ever created a trivia game! Clearly, there are still some kinks that need to be worked out 😯 So I decided it would be most fair if I gave all 43 of you a chance to win.

Now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for! I put all of your names into a bowl and drew out the winning ticket

CONGRATULATIONS, KRISTIE LYNN!!

Here were her answers (I loved them!):

1.) Β Papa Bender! I always dream of what would happen if my Dad cooked like him haha.
2.) Spiders… I don’t blame you at all!
3.) It’s your family nickname, though you’re not sure why you got it. πŸ™‚ Those are usually the best kind of nicknames, though!
4.) Panera Bread?Β I remember reading all the entries when you would eat there and decide I had to go there myself… there are just too many “You Pick 2” combos I love. Also I agree with you 100% on the reasons for getting the Sourdough over the Whole Grain bread for the side πŸ™‚ I have the question mark with it though because I know you have a love affair with Cosi too…haha.
5.) Choconut Baked Oatmeal… not one of your recipes that I made, but just looking at those Pump it Up Muffins made me want to make those again! Yum!

Kristie Lynn requested Door #1:

And Allison will therefore be receiving Door #2 (you didn’t specify a particular mug in the comments, so I hope that’s ok with you, girly!!):

Congrats again, ladies!! Be sure to check your inboxes!!

I want to thank all of you who entered for taking the time to write thoughtful comments and/or send sweet emails to me. It meant so much to me and I hope you know that I read each and every one with a huge smile plastered across my face  I would never have made it this far without you. Even if you’re new to the blog (if so, HI!), I truly appreciate your kind words and consider you an integral part of why I’m still writing! Please feel free to sit down and stay awhile πŸ˜‰

Well, I think that’s quite enough from me today! I hope you all enjoyed the Fiber Q&A I posted earlier. It seemed to address a lot of the questions you had, which was my goal! I will be back tomorrow with a foodie post. For now, I’m off to catch up on my blog reading!

Thank you,
